  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Bonjella to rub on her gums will help a little to lessen the pain, and anything hard to chew on. Any of the little kiddy toys should do the trick (you can teething rings in any good kids shop). I used to put mine in the freezer and then give them to my kids. The cold helps to numb the gums, and the hardness of the toy will help to encourage the teeth to break through the gums.

Hope it helps. Good luck!

Blessings, JG

link to a whole collection on teeth.

My kids liked cold teethers and distraction best, something to do to take their mind of the pain. Not sure how old yours is, but in the 'baby' stage we did lots of songs or 'flying' (on your knees) or something like that. When older I just joined more play for a day or 5 (DD is a sloooooow teether :(.)

You are right about the freezies being sharp. I never really used them because my babies never had too much trouble. This was advised in a magazine or something that I had read a long time ago. Baby orajel is great for a baby who is getting her/his first tooth. I heard that it isn't a good idea for other teeth that are coming in because it freezes the tongue and the baby can bite it (or something like that). I never used that either. I like the wash cloth idea though.

Just remember, this too shall pass.

I'd avoid the Hyland's teething tablet. My son had to go to the doctor's because of them. I've shared this here before but in a nutshell these tablets have the same affect rubbing cocaine on the gums would have. I avoid medications so we tried to find other alternatives after the tablets episode.

I like the frozen waffle idea. Anything frozen that they can gum is a good thing. Also soaking part of a cloth in water and freezing it helped.

I think teething is why we all have infant amnesia. Teething is too traumatic. It's a good thing we cannot remember it.
