Holly I will be praying for you . . I understand what you are feeling . .this is an attack by the enemy . . you know how I know? I had the same thoughts tonight to some degree . . I was abhored by them, but I thought the same thing . . . how much easier it would be to just go back to Protestantism . . no more of the strict moral requirements . . . HA! I couldn't believe those thoughts were going through my mind.
When this happens with people who are in very different places in their spiritual growth, it is a pretty good sign that this is a suggestion being made by the enemy to MANY Catholics all over . . .
This is a spiritual battle you are experiencing. It will pass. Just tell the devil "NO!" and ask for Jesus' mercy and protection.
May I tell you a secret I learned? If you are able to accept this, I have found this to be sure and true.
Give everything God has given you into Mary's keeping . .. ask her to keep every grace you have been given safe. She will do this for you. I have learned that if we try to keep God's graces ourselves, we risk losing them. If we give them into Mary's keeping, they are safe from being despoiled by the enemy. He is afraid of her.
This is really true. . . .
Do you pray the Angelus?
V. The Angel of the Lord declared unto Mary.
R. And she conceived of the Holy Spirit.
Hail Mary, etc.
V. Behold the handmaid of the Lord.
R. Be it done unto me according to thy word.
Hail Mary, etc.

V. Pray for us, O holy Mother of God.
R. That we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ.
LET US PRAYPour forth, we beseech Thee, O Lord, Thy grace into our hearts, that we to whom the Incarnation of Christ Thy Son was made known by the message of an angel, may by His Passion and Cross be brought to the glory of His Resurrection. Through the same Christ Our Lord. Amen.

Pray these prayers. Entrust into the care of Mary all that God has given you, and when this temptation passes, you will begin to understand what a great treasure you have in Mary as an intercessor and help to you in your spiritual life and growth.
