  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I am a man who struggles with doubt, who needs to have logic and reason involved, and therefore I often struggle to believe the Bible. I am also easily swayed and when an atheist has a really good argument, I feel really down, and God seems unreal and made up.. I don't know if this is normal. And when I can't feel God i give in to sin. I need to A) Be stable in my faith and B) If I do stumble in faith, keep from sinning.
any advice?? :(

You can't serve GOD half way. If you are going to be part of the KINGDOM of ALMIGHTY GOD you MUST GIVE IT ALL TO GOD.

GOD demands that you give HIM your WHOLE heart, mind, strength, and soul. That means you go in prayer and tell GOD that you will do this and from that moment on seek GOD in all your decisions. After this is complete GOD will know. For HE searches the heart. HE will then send HIS HOLY SPIRIT ( ANOINTED-BORN AGAIN- SAVED ). For it is then that you shall receive the MISSION GOD has for just you and supply all your needs, even what you have not the ability to have.

Pick up GOD'S ROAD MAP to the KINGDOM of ALMIGHTY GOD ( BIBLE ) and start reading the NEW TESTIMENT till the next time you read it you will already know what IT'S going to say. For then it's locked in your heart to draw from for the rest of your life. You will NEVER be sorry you did.

When you have GOD'S WORD locked in your heart you will not longer be easily swayed when an atheist has a really good argument because you will know there is no good argument.

Do yourself a BIG FAVOR and Start right now!!!

LOVE

Hey, I do give my all to God, I do it all the time, and I fall short all the time.
I say, and say with all my heart, Lord my life is yours, but every time, something gets in my way, be it half an hour later, a day later, or a minute later, I always fall into temptation, and have to repent over again.
Either that or i find a good argument against God that hurts my faith and makes me feel that I don't have the strength to repent.

Friend,

What do you believe in your heart to be true? Where is your heart yearning to go? Go there and search for those things, live in those things. Where do you find these arguing athiests? They just find you in the middle of town to rebuttal you? Stay away from forums and threads or chat rooms that make you face these things if they hurt you. Focus on those things in your heart and go after them.
I understand the world of athiesm well, its just built diffrent fundamentally. A christian rests on diffrent things than an athiest does, a christian will never win an argument with an educated mature athiest on if they try to play that athiests game because the rules are diffrent and they don't support christian theory or logic.

Athiests have holes in their theory as well, they are left with having no real answer for their existence or for anything, they face the great unknown alone without any promises or surity so they can't prove anything right or wrong becuase in the end they just don't know but they can live with that ... christians are left having no physical evidence for what they believe in but they all the answers, just no evidence or proof. do you see the diffrent sides? Christainity thrives off faith, Athiesm thrives off evidence and is dependent on it.

For one, anyone...anyone who try's to belittle you or tear you down and damage your heart felt beliefs is a peice of crap! regardless....so stop giving those people your ear. Anyone worthy of listening to will respect how you feel and will not try to argue you or hurt your beliefs. those people you speak of care more about fighting than they do about you, so stop listening to them.
Go after whats in your heart, and don't try to win on an athiests terms becuase you can't becuase they argue evidence, just follow whats in your heart because sometimes thats where you really find your home and then, you wont care to fight anymore.

They call that condition as being a babe in CHRIST.

Think of it in this way. When a babe is born they can't do anything. Then they work till they can turn over, then they work to crawl, then they work to stand up and fall many times, then they attempt to walk and again fall many times and then they are walking with out falling. Now that baby NEVER doubted it would walk and kept on working at it. It is the very same with your faith. It appears to me you are in the attempting to walk stage.

NEVER GIVE UP. BELIEVE that GOD will ANOINT you when your heart is ready.

Never forget that SAINT PAUL had a weakness he could never get rid of. He ask the LORD to take it away. But the LORD told him:

OUT OF YOUR WEAKNESS YOU SHALL FIND YOUR GREATEST STRENGTH

Friend,

What do you believe in your heart to be true? Where is your heart yearning to go?
Jesus is Lord, God is eternal, I am half animal, half immortal/soul, he is the only way to happines, I love God with all my heart, soul and mind, and I love my neighhbor as myself, I will enter the kingdom of God, may my worship be for his glory, and not my pleasure, although my pleasure is an added bonus that I am thankful for but is not the purpose of it. That's a sum up of what I believe in my heart. But I also think logic and reason are key.
Go there and search for those things, live in those things. Where do you find these arguing athiests?
On youtube, in everyday life, in books.
They just find you in the middle of town to rebuttal you?
things similar to that have happened
Stay away from forums and threads or chat rooms that make you face these things if they hurt you. Focus on those things in your heart and go after them.
I dont want to be close minded, and the heart is decietfull, the Bible even says so.

Agreed.

I believe that there is plenty of evidence for Christianity.

I agree, thank you, your comment helped! :)

Since you are a new christian(?) it is probably not wise to hang around with atheists. As you said you are easily swayed which would make you prime bait for the enemy. Find christian guys to hang out with. The bible says knock and the door will be open, seek and you will find. Keep seeking and keep knocking.

I highly recommend you read the books of Lee Stroebel. He was once a fiery atheist - until he did objective research and pursued studies in understanding Christianity. He writes books using reason and logic and investigave science - in the language of an atheist- so that atheists understand where he is coming from. Stroebel is now a converted Christian - his research is remarkable - give his books a try. He uses good scholarship which includes history, archaeology, linguistics, and even science to demonstrate the validity of Christianity.

I realize you fundamentally struggle with finding God. Christianity (in this case, following Jesus Christ) will help you find God.

As imperfect humans, we will always sin - that's a given. But our lives are a spiritual journey that help us grow and learn so that we do whatever we can during our short lives to be made worthy in God's eyes. So we work hard to overcome whatever obstacles fall in our way.

Brother, nobody is perfect. We all sin and, yes, sometimes doubt. What you must always believe is that God will be there in your struggles. I think you should spend a day or two in deep prayer and ask God to help you along the way.

I hope everything works out for you brother.
I will keep you in my prayers.
God Bless.

Then you sound pretty normal to me. When Paul wrote about being transformed (Rom 12:1-2) he used the present continuous tense - 'going on being transformed'. Change is a process. Just as in our natural life, we take time to grow spiritually too. It's fine to have holiness teaching, but when it becomes too idealistic it can result in a very burdensome life.

I would suggest that continue to do the Will of God, and let the mockers and accusers come to you -- thinking they are might and wise. (As you well know.)

Their advice is that of golems and zombies. What value is it? It is altogether worthless.
