okay so where on earth do I find the publisher and publication date if not on the title page?

About me? I'm of german descent living in America. The books apparently belonged to my great grandmother who immigrated when she was a small child in the late 1890s.

maybe it stands inside the book. on the second or third page together with a lot of informations in a very small fontsize .

the publisher stands on the front page it's: max hesse's verlag leipzig.
hope that's correct coz this font is old. i only can read the new and modern font.
the year should be before 1890, when she immigrated that time.
but i can go and google it.

The very next page starts the bio of shakespeare in Volume 1, in 2-4 it starts with the plays. - BTW: this is a 4 volume collection.
