• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Over the past two weeks I have let a lot of negative thoughts creep into my mind and has resulted in the feeling of being lost. I'm working on my visualization again and trying to get back on track. Any suggestions, tips, tricks etc on how to remain in line with LOA. It's funny that I'm writing this because in the past when I have been centered I've read these types of posts and wondered how that person managed to get so off-centered.

What is LOA? I am clueless about that.

What has recently helped me with my focus is to make a gratitude list on a daily basis and share it with a fellow believer. Praising the Lord for the little things helps me chase away the enemy.

Remember that recovery is a spiritual battle. Read God's Word daily to fill your mind with the mind of Christ.

God bless.

Hello Johnathan,

I agree about what our precious sister said about making a list.

Here are some scriptures pertaining to LOVE my friend that will give your thirsting soul an abundance of spiritual nourishment.

"May the Lord direct your hearts into the love of God and into the steadfastness and patience of Christ and in waiting for His return." 2 Thessalonians 3:5

"He who pursues righteousness and love finds life, prosperity and honor." Proverbs 21:21

"Let everything you do be done in love." 1 Corinthians 16:14

"Live a life of love." 1 Peter 4:8

"Be rooted and grounded in love." Ephesians 3:17

"Let love never leave you." Proverbs 3:3

"My command is this, love each other as I have loved you.

"Greater love has no one than this: that he lay down his life for his friends." John 15:12-13

"By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you have love one another." John 13:35

The attributes that stem from LOVE are these:

Devotion, adoration, honour, tenderness, mercy, equiption, forgiveness, compassion, grace, service, gratitude, kindness, hope, life, preseverance, giving, peace, joy, faith, boldness, patience. belief and all Good things that make present the Lord our God's Great Reverence and Glory.

Thank you for reading & may God bless you Johnathan as you anchor and write these scriptures upon your Heart.

I love you my friend in Christ.

And God bless you

"Remain united to me, and I will remain united to you. A branch cannot bear fruit by itself; it can do so only if it remains in the vine. In the same way you cannot bear fruit unless you remain in me. I am the vine, and you are the branches." John 15:4-5
