I am Samuel from India.
I am the only child to my parents, for sixteen years they gave me education. They sacrificed most of their salary for my studies.
They had a dream, they wanted me to study the M.S. program in U.S. or Canada after I completed my bachelors degree in engineering.
No one in our whole family had a masters degree. My Grand father was a farm labourer , so my Father could not even dream of higher studies.
I am my parents only hope.
As soon as I completed my Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering in April 2003, I wrote the GRE and TOEFL. I got a score of 1070 out of 1600 in GRE and 250 out of 300 in TOEFL.
I applied for a University in Canada and another in the United States. My parents did not even have enough money for applying, so in order to apply they sold our motorcycle.
I got the call letter from the canadian University. I took the call letter and appeared for a Visa at the Canadian Consulate, But the officer refused to give me a VISA because My parents are POOR.
After hearing this I and my parents were heart broken. My Mother got sick and is at the Hospital.
Recently, I got a CALL LETTER from OHIO UNIVERSITY at ATHENS in the UNITED STATES for WINTER 2004 for Industrial and Manufacturing Systems Engineering . But I can Study there only if I get an Assistantship or financial aid or by some kind hearted person sponsoring for my studies.
I have to prove to the VISA officer at the American Consulate that I have enough funds for my studies.
My classmates who applied for the U.S. Universities belong to the Hindu Relegion. They are saying that they have relatives who will sponsor them for their studies. They are mocking me and laughing at me saying that I will never be able to study in America.
I have to appear for the Student Visa Interview at The American Consulate here in India in October.
My parents are financially poor. Is there any help for me.
I write this letter with tears. Is there any hope for me.
I would be grateful to anyone who help me.
Kindly reply me.
I CRY OUT TO GOD.
