My faith is being questioned right now because of my uncertainess abou the trinity. I just want you to know that you are alone, and remember the times when you were faithful, remember your reason for becoming a believer, and remember the times when you put trust, even a little, in the Lord.

"If any of you is lacking in wisdom, ask God, who gives to all generously and ungrudgingly, and it will be given to you. But ask in faith, never doubting, for the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, driven and tossed by the wind" James 1:5-6

"I sought the Lord, and He answered me, and He delivered me from all my fears." Psalm 34:4

Pray to God and ask him to help you get back on track with Him.....He will guide you back. Read your Bible, you'll find all your answers in it. God will help you with your faith as long as you let him.

I am sure everyone goes through periods of questions. If there is any substance to their faith, IMO. BUT remember, persistence. When you fall. Brush off, and get back up, no matter how many times you have to get back up. I don't know why you are questioning your belief in God and maybe more information would help someone to say the right words to help you find what you need, I don't think that I can since I don't know what is going on specifically, realistically, I dont think I could anyway, because it is an individual journey we have to walk. There is so much pain in this world, and so many things we can not ever understand, that is probbly the largest reason for lack of belief in God, but God loves you, how do I know, you are breathing arent you? I don't intend to sound silly by saying that, but our lives are literally in his hands, and we live literally because he alows it, even those who curse God to his face are allowed to live. That tells me something about his patience. My only advice to you would be pray, go somewhere in private, and talk outloud to God, tell him, EXACTLY how you feel, and why, it is no surprise to him, as you probbly know. I believe He will answer you in one way or another. Please don't give up, I will pray for you and I ask God right now to provide the comfort you desperately need.
God's blessings to you.

Hi Creation,
As has been said this is kind of difficult without knowing whats wrong. I only partly agree with an earlier post that this is an individual journey we are on. It is also a corprate faith and communal journey. SO, here is my plan. Why don't we have faith for you today? I'll believe extra hard on your behalf.:prayer: In the mean time (in the words of David Wilcox) get some sleep, eat some broccoli, run a mile and take a shower.

(Yeah I know it doesn't really work like that.)

(Or does it?)

Kind of need more information. I have felt like I lost my faith several times. There are no simple answers.

Can I suggest picking up a book on theology?
I suggest "Basic Theology" by Charles Ryrie
Its a pretty simple straight forward book that might be able to answer your questions about the trinity.

(to the original poster)
Some times it can be easy to base the truthfulness of whether or not God exists or that the Bible is true off of feelings, but we must understand that our feelings and emotions can be like the sea, tossing and changing from day to day.
Its really easy to be hit by something hard and for our faith to falter, but give it time and do the research to figure out the truth.
Don’t like feelings be your guide, but the truth.
Please post any specific questions you have, and hopefully we will be able to answer them for you.

God bless!

Hi there!

Well, you have received some good answers so far... and I would recommend the book by Ryrie...

What has happened that has shattered your faith? And what kind of help would get you back on track?

God is in control... always has been, always will be. Everything in this universe is known in relation to what God has already done.

If your serious, and want to understand and know God, you have to forget trying to stuff Him into a box of man's understanding. Men imagine that they have all kinds of powers to understand, yet fail to have power over their own universe in even the most basic of concerns - like life, gravity, the sin nature. The one thing we do have plenty of is the "pride of life". Somehow, just waking up in the morning is enough to make us think we gave ourselves the day while in fact each breathe we take is inside of God and His gift of life to us. What wonder and glory awaits those that were made to have fellowship with their Creator - to walk with Him in the cool of the evening, like Adam did before the fall. Why and what right does this part of us want to not believe that God can do anything? It is the sin and nature of the old man that lives in this dying flesh that fell into curse of death and has only one redeemer who now twice owns them - in creation and by redeemption. We are twice His. Get back you faith and quit hearing the lies of the devil and his followers.

PM me if you wish. Do not be fooled, and do not prefer the darkness as some do and then try and justify their decision.

Joh 3:19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.

And you're only 16? That sucks. When I was your age I became a Christian. I agree that faith is a community thing, we are not to be alone in our faith.

In fact, I can sympathize with what you're saying. For me, what helped was staying connected with Christian friends who build me up and who I can build into. I still had non-Christian friends (otherwise I'd go insane, heh) but I needed to primarily lean on those who share my convictions. It seems that when other Christians are around, they help you to see things you wouldn't necessarily see, and help you with doubts, and help you see love in a tangible way.

k - If we're recommending books, I've got help for several types of problems, but as I have no idea what yours is these are just shots in the dark...

1. Has the loss of family/friend shaken your faith?
Recommend: A Grief Observed, CS Lewis
2. Just having trouble being enthusiastic about your faith?
Recommend: the "Passion of the Christ" (movie), Jesus Freaks I or II, dcTalk
3. Afraid to step up to bat for Jesus?
Recommend: In His Steps, Charles M. Sheldon
4. Little bit worried about whether Jesus was what He claimed to be?
Recommend: A website, actually - "http://www.messianic-prophecy.net/"
5. ???
Recommend: If all else fails, I'd love to chat with you. I have a heart for helping people, and would love to help you.

God bless.

Creationist2004,
my suggestion (and we have no details from you to go on) is threefold

1) for you to go to a Christian Church and to pray with the assembled Christians.

2) for you to pray privately to God to strengthen you and to comfort you

3) for you to go into a Catholic Church, during the week in the daytime, when nothing is going on, and to sit there and to pray privately to God.
(You will not be questioned why you are there, or if you are Catholic. You won't be questioned anything. You can slip in and pray silently, and you can slip out.)

Peace be with you.

I agree with Caoimhin,
The biggest problem with this whole e community thing is that it is out of touch with reality. We all leap in and try and answer your questions, as if its answers that always help. Sometimes they do, but I was suggesting that its community (the sort that can give you a hug, sit with you silently, and talk about the rugby), but mostly the sort that says come and spend time in my life, watch the way I relate to my neighbours, raid my fridge, eat my food and look through my cupboards. I was also suggesting that ofetn we forget that we are not dualistic beings, we are one complete being. How often is spiritual emptiness caused by a late night. You cannot seperate physical, emotional and spiritual. Some problems are curable with some good food, good friends, and an early night. (this may not be the case with you, since you never said. Hope you have a good mentor whose life you can see. We all need one no matter how old we are. But in our culture of sound bites, captions and summary they are hard to find.)
Ramble ramble.

Go under the Grace.

The Lord can keep us, but a constant stream of garbage in has to effect the soul of a person. We have to renew our minds daily and make sure we build up our faith in God. Otherwise we become weak in faith and unbelief creeps in and we become susceptible to the world's lies.

Colossians 2:6 As, then, you took Christ Jesus the Lord, so go on in him,
7 Rooted and based together in him, strong in the faith which the teaching gave you, giving praise to God at all times.
8 Take care that no one takes you away by force, through man’s wisdom and deceit, going after the beliefs of men and the theories of the world, and not after Christ:

Ro 12:2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

I seem to have missed the reason you think your faith is gone. When you became a born again Christian , your spirit became alive and it ain't gonna die regardless of how we feel. Once you have accepted Christ into your life He is there forever. He will not leave you or forsake you afterall He was once your age growing up on the wrong side of town.

Why do you think you had faith to begin with? Not trying to be rude, but if you could answer the question.
