I am 17, & have been raised as a mildly religious Jewish person by my Jewish parents. A friend at school invited me to a christian church youth meet. I have been told by Christians that Jesus was prophesied in the old testament, but when I look at some of the prophecies they gave me to look at, I fail to see Jesus in them, & they don't seem to do a good job explaining the logic of how they get from what it says, to seeing jesus in it. I am looking for somebody who can go through some verses with me & hopefully explain how the verses relate to jesus. My parents & Rabbi's don't agree that jesus is the messiah.

CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Your parents and Rabbi's are orthodox Jews ... and no orthodox Jews (judaism) don't believe Jesus was/is the Messiah. The Jews who do believe it are called Messianic Jews.
This is all new to you because of being brought up in the orthodox jewish beliefs. Judaism does not recognize the Christian New Testament.
Keep studying yourself and knowledge will be revealed. A little bit here a little bit there.

I think that if you want to truly find out the truth about something, you need to use your brain 1st & your heart 2nd. Using your heart will only give you feelings, not knowledge. Knowledge can only come from seeking truth through verifiable evidence.

I suggest that you contact Professor James Tour. He was raised a secular Jew. He became a believer in Jesus in his youth (he does not like the word "Christian"). He is a Professor at Rice University. He also has a ministry of leading people to Jesus. If you look up his CV, you will find that he is one of the world's great scientists. He will always make time to help those who genuinely want to know the truth. He is happy to talk with you on Zoom. Tell him that Peter from Australia recommended that you speak to him, if you will.
