  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Hello and welcome to CF.

You may not get many answers - this place is just for introductions.

"Soul ties"? I would say no. Idol? You have to decide for yourself - do you worship it or serve it or place it too highly in your affections?

I'm sure you know it was an improper thing to do, and it's stealing. The right thing to do is to repent of the wrong thing you did against the person - and you can't repent while keeping what you took. Your reaction to the suggestion to get rid of it for the sake of your repentance before God can be an indication of how highly you value it (relating to your question about idols).

Again, welcome to CF.

In 1992, I was a flight attendant. One day, a famous person boarded the plane for an overnight flight. While he was asleep, I cut a small lock of hair as a keepsake (I know. It's horrible. I don't know how I dared to do that). My questions is if having that lock of hair is a sin unto God. Is it considered as an idol or could it have created souls ties to him? I know this is a strange question, but I need to know if I should throw it away.

Repent of the sin ... and throw away the keepsake (reminder of the sin).

God was quite gracious to you in allowing you to not get caught doing what you did. He has been as gracious to me, as well.

But now it's time to clear the slate ... and move on ...
