CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Are you just shy in real life and bold and fearless on forums?
Here in the UK forum it seems pretty reasonable, just like UK in real life. It seems you can ask any kind of question and not get jumped all over by some fanatic, which is a good thing I think because everyone has questions and there are 'no such things as stupid questions'.
I think the largest number in this forum is the conservative Bible-believing Christians but some are more liberal and there is a very helpful nice Jewish person here as well, and some people like myself who are in transition.

A few navigational tricks that might be useful:
Trick 1. Getting back to yesterday's posts
On any post you have made click on your name, that takes you to your very own home page, then click 'Statistics', and then click on 'find all posts by' or 'find all threads started by' and presto there is a post you made in the past you can't find because it is in a different sub forum from the one you remembered.
Trick 2. Keeping it open
Use the middle mouse button to go places, this should open a new tab for the next item of interest without closing the item you are on. I open everything of interest and then close them if I've replied or decided not to reply yet, and I often open an online Bible in another tab as it is so much quicker to find things in it than in a paper Bible.
