CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I have lost six pounds and my desire is to lose 2 pounds a week. Also, I am on a 1490 calorie diet, but I am concerned about my metabolism. I walk and hope to eat less than 2000 calories. I am on myfitnesspal and I do eat in moderation. What exercises do I need to do?

You don't have to lose things slowly, I hear that was a myth, but the fact that it may require of lifestyle means that it can still be a good thing to do slowly!

(is this in the right area?)

I have heard that after a certain amount of time of these diets your metabolism does stop and you need to kick start it, but I can't remember how, I do weight loss through exercise :S and guys have a much higher callorie intake allowance!

any exercise is good! Walk at least 30 minutes a day... Step aerobics (i know, sounds boring lol) is an AWESOME workout! Also, if your weight starts plateauing, zig-zag your calories... meaning since you eat 1490 daily... your weekly total is 10430 so divide those up in diff amounts (but never go below 1200). For example Sunday: 1480 Monday: 1600 Tuesday: 1400 Wednesday: 1450 Thursday: 1500 Friday: 1700 Saturday: 1300 and it all equals up the same but confuses your metabolism.. I have done this and it does work (I'm trying to lose as well)
