Hello.Hi Ed!
![]()
OK.Hi Jim. Merry Christmas to you!
Ed...I posted this just to see if there would be a response. I'm glad there was. Maybe we'll get something started. I would hope that every kind of ELCAer would be able to participate, cons, mods, libs...the whole blessed mess of us.
We'll see!
Hi to both of you, it seems the whole Lutheran foruim is kind of inactive, but in particular the ELCA category is completely vacant. I think it has to do with the fact that it is a "blessed mess" and that is why it doesn't click....anyhow that is just my opinion. Merry Christmas and best wishes!
Well...we could call you "Vic." I believe that "Reverend Seminarian" is a proper title for someone in your position. So...RevSemCowboy?Just for clarication, I am not technically a "Rev" yet. I am in the in-between stage called seminary. I am doing my vicarage (and that makes me a Vicar instead of a Rev) right now, but I figured that since will be talking a call in about 15 months that its just easier not to have to change my username then in case I am still around.
Can't say that I mind being called Rev though!
Hi there RevCowboy! I am a seminarian too, at the GTU in California. Where are you studying? Orthodox might be a tricky word to use, since Lutheran orthodoxy already refers to a particular historical movement, but I certainly share the sentiment.Howdy all,
I see that this thread seems to be vaguely about finding new members for the ELCA/ELCIC forum. Well, here I am.
I spent several years over on Table Talk at Oldlutheran.com, but it was hard to have discussions with some of the other kinds of Lutherans and I haven't been posting there for about 9 months.
Anyways, I thought I would say "Hello" back and see if I am the first ELCIC member to post here. I am looking forward to some discussion with some Lutherans that are a little less hostile to moderate (or what I like to call Orthodox) Lutheranism.
Advent Blessings from the Great White North!
Hi Iowa!Hi all! I've been around here at CF over 3 years and have lurked a lot on the Lutheran board and have never really felt at home. I consider myself a moderate ELCA'er, kind of in the style of NT Wright in Anglicanism. I end up spending more time on the Anglican forum because I'm liturgical/high church and there seem to be more moderates there. I would post more here if there were more collegial dialogue instead of polemics from the right and left.
BTW, I am a TEEM candidate for ordination and am taking classes from Wartburg Seminary.
Thanks, RegularGuy for posting this thread, maybe we'll get some more activity once we get to know each other a little bit.
Hi Iowa!
Have you ever decorated a statue of Luther?
