hi ... i kinda new to all this but thought i would introduce myself.

i was really pleases to see that this forum has an SI section and i was suggested to visit by one of youth leaders.

i used to SI on a regular basis but stopped when i became a christian ... thats has only lasted two years cos recently i've gone back to it and i really really want to stop ... again

none of my friends or family know that i have started again ... apart from one or two

i cant put my finger on why i started again and was hoping to find support and encouragment in here.

Have you been under stress lately? A move or a new school? New friends? New job? Family problems?

Sometimes it can be hard to figure out what the trigger was. And I know sometimes it seems there is no trigger at all. It seems to just creep back in. But I'm glad you found CF and this SI board. It is full of wonderful people who are going to help you as much as they can.

Can you think of anything that has changed recently and also you might want to think of what were your triggers last time and see if any of them have started to come around.

i started SIing originally i think because i was going through a traumatic time at school (being bullied physically and mentally also being treatened). i have never had any help because i have never told anyone apart from one family member and my best friend.

getting professional help might be a good idea, i know how scary it can be, but u know it might just help

Does your school have a counsellor? It might be a good idea to see if you can go to them if you can to get some advice in person on how to deal with it.

Also talking to your parents (if they are supportive) is a great idea, as they can provide you some accountability.

Try a therapeutic wilderness program. They take you out of the setting where you feel unsafe and depressed and give you a whole new outlook on things...not to mention I went into one a complete occultist/cutter/stoner/junkie/tweeker who hated life and when I left, well--I was a Christian! Places like wilerness-programs remind you of what is beautiful in life and how to make the best of each and every moment. If you are interested, look into:

Monarch Center for Family Healing (where I went)
Anasazi Wilderness Program
Second Nature (this one has multiple locations around the US)

None of these are specifically christian, but a christian kid in my group was so influential to me that I decided to seek christ. Monarch is co-ed. I'm not sure about Anasazi, but I'm almost positive that Second Nature keeps its groups split up between guys and girls.
