  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Hi, everyone!

Newbie here. I'm a stay at home mom to three children (18, 5, 2). I worked outside the home for many years and am enjoying being home with the kids now. This fall my 5yo and I will begin homeschooling.

I love to listen to Christian rock, but don't get much chance with the kids. My all time favorite is Petra. I've spent many years singing on the church worship team and doing solos/specials. I was also the senior pastor's/church secretary for several years before my youngest two were born.

So, enough about me to get started!! :D I look forward to getting to know all of you better!

Hello Joyful and welcome to the forums!! :wave: I am a stay at home mom of 2 kids ages 6 and 5. I am homeschooling my oldest this year its been very rewarding. I also enjoy christian rock music!! Petra is awesome!! Do you remember Stryper? My kids and I rediscovered them the other day. They think the song "Free" is just about the best thing since veggie tales. hehehe I am into Skillet and Seventh Day Slumber and Kutless. :) Hope you enjoy the forums!!

Yeah! Some fellow stay at home moms -- and homeschooling moms! :clap: :hug:

And I do remember Stryper! I always loved "Honestly" -- wanted to have it played at our wedding, but hubby said no (he's not a Stryper fan).....we did play "Love" by Petra and a song by Kemper Crabb (a Christian artist my husband knew of).

I really like the forums here -- there is so much, that I can see why you could get lost here -- and certainly lose track of time at the very least!!! ;)
