For those in support of this pipeline, why do you think it's a good thing?

I am not a supporter of KXL but I would like to comment on your post.

I wanted to say, as far as I am concerned, it is not a good thing. And here is why.

The pipeline is not solely an American issue. To suggest that it is is but American arrogance.

It is being built on American soil where existing pipelines have already failed and cause water pollution and land pollution.

Cheaper gas, more jobs, more refineries (which is even more jobs), and doing business with Canada instead of Arabs... It's all good.

Where are these new refineries being built?

Because our American President promise greatness and bringing the jobs back to the USA. And the first step in doing that is helping to ensure a couple dozen temporary jobs are created in the USA and Canada's ability to sell extremely dirty, polluting and awful fuel on the global markets shall not be infringed!

All construction jobs are temporary, if done correctly.

I'm at a point, since this won't happen where I live. Why should I care about the possibility of leakage happening and contaminating my air or water. Now if it happens on Indian grounds. That's another issue.

If they have to cross indian land, they will pay royalties to the tribe. That is a good thing for the indians.

If it's going through their land, it is going through their land... Just like a freeway, or a canal, or any other big infrastructure project. That;s what eminent domain is for. Being sovereign, unlike you or me, the tribe will get royalties.
