hello all i just signed up today and yes i have bpd. i have knowen for about a year now. yes it hurt my marrage and am now separated. anyway i hope to be a help to others.

The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.
If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.
If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I am married to a BPD woman have been for twenty five years this june. we only found out why she acts this way about 18 months ago since then it's been a bumpy ride but in manny ways our marriage is better than it ever was before. stay on meds if proscribed but watch for a need to change prescription. work with your doc on this and find someone around you who will be brutally honest about what the drugs do to you. There is no one size fits all in this and you may be the last to know if the meds help or hurt. keep in counceling if you work hard one day you will have your life back.

I too have BPD, as well as Anorexia and PTSD. It's sometimes very hard to deal with, as I know it is for others but I'm still standing with all my strength.
