  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Hi all,

I'm new here, looking forward to interacting with some of you and possibly making some new virtual friends. I'm a lifelong Christian, married male, mid-30's. I have strong interests in science, worldviews/religion, philosophy, apologetics and getting people to think more deeply.

Part of the reason I'm here is also to get ideas for topics of discussion on a podcast I'm working on putting together. Its sort of a laypersons take on Christian culture, issues in the church and in the world, morality, logic, etc.

Side note, since I'm in the very early stages of planning this podcast, I'm also interested in potential co-hosts and guests to participate in recorded conversation.

I look forward to interacting with you here in the forums.

My folks and I lived in Florida for many years, in a community called "Sarasota" I went to school there and my daddy had a design studio there, I loved it.
