Hello everyone,
After a long period of doubt, cynicism, and searching in my life, I now know God was always there, giving me faith, even as I stumbled and turned my back again and again. I really want to live a Christian life and grow in faith. I thought joining the Christian community here would be helpful for me to learn and befriend fellow believers; I think learning from people like me and those more mature in their faith will be greatly helpful!
As for myself, I'm a math, book, and programming nerd. I finished my master's degree in mathematics last year, and I'm preparing to enter into a mathematically intensive career in due time which is exciting for me. For those interested, studying higher math with its order, infinities, and conceptual beauty softened my culturally inherited unbelief and materialism; I think God used this due to the type of person I am to lead me back to faith. For those interested in talking about math or having trouble, I love any sort of mathematical discussions; I worked as a tutor at my old college's math center, so I love to help where I can!
Outside of math, I love running outside during all seasons. I could do better with my diet and snacking, but running has been a great stress reliever that has made me much healthier than I used to be. I think of both math and more recently faith as I run or walk. Perhaps, other CF runners here can give me their thoughts on good running shoes and workout gear for winter running.
Thanks for reading my introduction; I hope to have lots of great discussions and meet nice people here!
