Okay, let me do this again. I started a new thread, but it didn't post.
Hello everyone. I just wanted to introduce myself as I am new to this forum. My name is VozNocturna (aka Natalie).
I learned about the site through a Christian friend. Yay!
Details about me:
I'm 25 (26 next month), from Chicago, and I suppose I can say that I've been a Christian since I was 4 or 5. To be honest, however, I think I came to understand what God truly meant to me a year ago. And while I confessed Jesus most of my life, I don't think I truly understood what it meant to have a deep, personal relationship with Jesus Christ as a friend until a year ago. Like many Christians, I've been through many trials, and a few where I almost walked away from God. Yet by his grace, he would not let me go. He'll leave the 99 sheep behind to rescue the stray one. That was me.
I love to debate--so I'm looking forward to engaging in some of the many thought-provoking conversations on this site. I'm a fan of apologetics and recently God has given me a passion for sharing his word with the lost. Hopefully this will help to challenge and strengthen my faith.
Other things about me:
I've had a pretty interesting and adventurous life. I'm the child of immigrants who came from Belize (a tiny country on the Caribbean coast of Central America) to Chicago. Although I was born in Chicago, I spent several years of my childhood in Mexico with my grandmother. I'm fluent in Spanish. I enjoy writing and I hope to publish some pieces in the near future. Right now, I'm honing my craft and trying to find a niche. I also love to run. My goal is to open up my own God-centered bilingual multi-media company.
I'm a die hard runner. I've been running for 8.5 years now and love every minute of it. I'm running my second marathon next month. I love to read fiction and non-fiction, and I'm a fan of Latin American literature and Elizabeth Peters' mystery novels. I love music, arts, and culture.
That's me. I hope I didn't bore anyone.
Hopefully, with time, I will get to know most of you.
Peace...
