  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

 So I'm new to the forum and just wanted to say hi. I am currently attending an episcopal church in search of whatever it is that is calling me. My first time was interesting because everything was very ritualized. The churches I have went to in the past were vibrant and loud, full of music, halleleujas, amen, and hugs. I feel like it isn't exactly what I'm looking for but somewhere in between. If you couldn't tell by now, I am new to my faith. I swear the Lord whispers in my ear constantly, I decided I needed to follow where ever it may take me. If this seems confusing, I'm sorry. I feel very lost right now and all I want is to find the place that I should be. It is so frustrating. I know the Lord will guide me to the right place, but I am so impatient. So I wait here, praying :prayer:

Welcome to the forums.
Have a blessed day.
[sign]Welcome[/sign]

I was in your shoes not that long ago. You will find most everyone has a reason for picking their church/denomination. Just pray. Ask God to lead you to a bible based church and He will send you to the Church he needs you in. Until then just start exploring the churches around you. If you feel comfy stay a little while explore their adult sunday school, evening worships, and any missionary or outreach programs they have. Make sure you understand the church before you join it. When all is said and done, and you have visited a few churches, you will have a greater understanding of why God choose the church he did for you. God Bless you.

I am praying that God will send you to the church He needs you in.
