Hell?

i believe hell exist but some denomination claims it doesn't exist because of "misinterpretation". I know the Hebrew words translated "hell" are different. Do you guys believe hell exist and explain why and why not if that's ok... Thanks guys! you guys know Hebrew than I do for sure

The Christian version of Hell, where most of humanity is eternally tortured by demons? No, that's fiction.

Gehenna, where the dead go to be purified for one year to reach Olam Ha Ba? Possible.

Yeah this one, where if you don't accept Jesus/Yeshua as your savior you're going to hell... That's what I believe...

but I need your explanation why you believe it's a fiction if that's ok... Because some Christian denominations (who doesn't believe hell exists the way I believed) accused us (who believed hell exist) we misinterpreted the word hell like Gehena and Sheol or something...

Sheol means abode of the dead. It doesn't mean Hell even in Christianity, even though some translations state it that way. The Greek equivalent to the Hebrew Sheol is Hades. Hades was not a torture chamber, it was the place where the dead stay until they go to Tartarus or the Elysian Fields.

I personally believe the Christian version is fictional, because it has too much influence from other places, such as the Persians (and now Paradise Lost/ Dante's Inferno). I also think the Church embellished the hell doctrine to increase converts. Nothing motivates penance like fear of eternal torment.

The Jewish view seems more in line with a merciful, just God. The Christian view sounds like something a sadistic being would come up with.

Hell has been redacted out of the bible by those who want to justify their sins. If they believed in an eternal consequence, they would take their sin seriously. If they can sin all they want and only suffer a year punishment for it, why would they give up their sin? More justification for their sinning.

this word from which we have 'perish' is Apollumi, and also related in Revelation is the word of the one that comes out of the pit, Appolyon which is said to be the Greek Which means destroyer. Thus if you perish you are destroyed, now how to define 'destroyed'? Is that the whole person or their anomia that is destroyed?

It's a shame people have to be threatened with an eternal hell to behave themselves.

This passage would fall in the area that I said was getting more and more elucidation about what happens at death.
From what I understand, this was the last book to be written. It doesn't even fall into the Prophets, it's in the Writings section of the Tanach.
Then Yeshua came on the scene and really clarified the subject so much more.

Yes, Yeshua clarified it greatly. I chose to use Daniel because the person who ridiculed it only believes the Tanakh and I wanted to show him/her the eternal penalty for sin is not a "New Testament / Yeshua creation" and was known long before Messiah Yeshua was born.
