If you die without Jesus, you will go to Hell.

As Christians, isn't there a better way to evangelize to non-Christians?

Isn't there a gentler way to evangelize to non-Christians?

For example (just an example):

"Heaven is a real place. God is real. Jesus loves you."

What are your thoughts on "hell-fire and brimstone" evangelism?

Open rebuke is better than secret love. Proverbs 27:5

It's better to rebuke a sinner lovingly, with the whole truth, than to tell him half-a-truth, in hopes he will eventually open to the other half.

Because it usually doesn't work that way.

I have found that those who don't want to hear about hell-fire, are hardened to the true gospel. They don't want a God who will punish sin. They want their sin, and a jolly-Santa-Claus-in-the-sky kind of god.

It is impossible to be saved, without repenting.
Repentance cannot happen, unless sin is defined.
Sin cannot be defined, without mentioning punishment from God.
And that means hell.

Can't we just say "You will be eternally separated from God" ?

It is important to be led by the Spirit.
Jesus didn't just spray bullets all around him. He said and did exactly what God told Him to.

We will only be effective as we are led by the Spirit, as Jesus was.

For some people, God may send a word of loving, gentle encouragement.
For others, a very stern, fiery rebuke and warning of damnation.

If we prefer to give one, and not the other, we will not be really open to the Spirit's leading.

Some may prefer to spray hell-fire-and-brimstone bullets machine-gun fashion.
And they will run roughshod right over those to whom God wants to minister compassion and gentle love.

And then, some may prefer to only minister gentle compassion and love... and end up only making hardened hypocrites more comfortable.

We have to die to self, to be willing to minister whatever God wants said.
Because some things God tells us to do, are uncomfortable to us.

Look at David Wilkerson. He said it as it is. The softer approach only makes you lukewarm.

Thank you. I will look at David Wilkerson

I believe it is very important to define heaven and hell to a non-christian. Heaven is eternal communion with God and hell is eternal separation from God. If you choose God you will be with Him, if you reject Him, He will honour that choice and allow you to go your own way.

Don't you really think that most Christians who evangelize give more than "convert or go to hell" as their message?

Albion, I do think that most Christians who evangelize give more than "convert or go to hell" as their message. For that, I am thankful

People in the US don't seem to be responsive to it for the most part. What people in the US crave to see is authenticity and love. That doesn't mean that you sweep Hell under the rug, but it does mean not being rude while evangelizing.

Doesn't Revelation talk about being in the presence of the lamb and the angels?

I'm talking about hell.
You must be referring to Revelation 14:10. I'll clarify my first post. When I mentioned communion and separation I was talking about them in terms of relationship. Being in relationship and being out of relationship. God is omnipresent, therefore He is also existentially present in hell but I believe those in hell would not "feel" or acknowledge His "glorious presence".
