From the article (emphasis mine):

"We've taken a new approach to thinking about the evolution of life from a thermodynamic perspective," Ferry says. "It reshapes the two previous theories of life's origin, it shows how they overlap, and it extends both of them significantly."

Now, countdown until the first creationist claims that them mean evilutionists again thought up a completely new theory to replace the oh-so-faulty last one... :sigh:

Let alone that I guess we can safely expect them to bear down on the combination of the terms "thermodynamic" and "evolution" with a vengeance... :p

Give it up guys.

Yes! Give up! Abandon all intellectual pursuits! Cease your infernal "research" and "study"! Become a creationist instead!

I imagine people like you existed in ancient times. "Hee hee!" they would say to an early meteorologist. "Give it up! Zeus did it!" Or, to an early geologist: "Hee hee! Give it up, guy. Hephaestus did it!"

What you're saying is that scientists should ditch their curiosity and critical thinking skills, stop examining potential natural causes, and settle for your intellectually lazy explanation. In order to be a creationist, you really do have to "give up," as you put it.

(By the way, nothing in that article precludes the notion that "God did it.")

Give it up? Why? Every day we take a little step closer to figuring out how God did it. Why should we give up looking for how God did things? Why should we give up testing things and holding onto what is true when Jesus Himself commanded us to do so?

'If they do not listen to Moses and the Prophets, they will not be convinced even if someone rises from the dead.' -- Jesus, Himself.

Let me elaborate: "Moses" == "Torah" first five books of the Old Testament -- GENESIS, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, Dueteronomy. If you do not listen to the author of Genesis, you will not be convinced even by Jesus Himself.

Are you saying that I have not read them? Because I have.

Are you saying that I do not understand anything about them? Why? Because I do not agree with you?

Interesting, I missed the Karaism link before... But looking it over confused me...

Is this a legitimate “back to basics” Hebrew scriptural purity movement?

If so, why do they keep referencing the KJV? The KJV butchered much of the OT.

Science gives us the best explaination that they can give us. The KJV is the best translation that we have. It may not be a perfect translation, but it is still the best.

Some churchs do believe that the KJV is annointed and is as dependable as the origional language. But I have trouble going along with that.

We know that God "did it" that is not the question. This is after all a Christian forum. The disagreement is in HOW did God do it?
From the article and the data scientists have amassed over the centuries, it's pretty clear that the how did not begin with the abracadabra and fully-formed life of creationists.
