Does anyone else have a hedgehog? They rock!

I have one and his name is Capt. Hilts......(Steve Mqueens character from The Great Escape)........because they are awesome escape artists (and all of my pets are like a platoon with rankings!) I know it's nerdy but I like the military.

Well my little cousin and his friend mated theirs and mine is one of the products. The runt to be specific. And no I don't feel guilty about it. I have a dog, and used to have fish. Animals rock and I give them a good home, I also feel God placed some of them here for us to take care of and for our enjoyment so no, don't feel bad. He's kind of like a tiny dog, very adventurous and loving.

There isnt anything illegal about owning them, so I don't see whats wrong with it.

Yeah for the most part..I mean if they are bothered they can get a little prickly but you get used to it....when they are comfortable they lay their quills down so it isn't bad.

Well I think they are illegal in Georgia and Calf but I don't know why..they are so cute

Are you talking about a dog? A cat? A goldfish? A hampster?

I don't think you will ever tame a cat, bird, fish, hampster, or a hedgehog. Therefore they are wild animals too.

Yeah some states they are not allowed...I don't know why though...I know in England they are like Prairie Dogs and are everywhere...like pests to them not pets......They had a special on PBS.

They are pretty awesome though...they can kill scorpions and stuff in the wild.....a little hunter!

I didn't know about the scorpians way cool!
Prairie dogs are now becoming illegal here because of them spreading deseases. I love those little critters.

yeah they are pretty cool. my friend had a prairie dog....but he had it before the disease...you just cant buy them anymore without a license or somethin.

Hedge Hogs make great pets! You can even get Prairie Dogs at the place where we shopt for pets. I'd like to get a hedge hog but they are like 100/50 dollars in the store.

Yeah I got mine for free cause of my cuz.....the pet store said they would buy them from him for 75 bucks (they sell them for a hundred) but they are hard to breed...did you know that 80% or something like that die (while breed in captivity) this was my cousins first time and all 3 lived....he is pretty smart for a 13 yr old...he loves animals.. I think he should become a zookeeper at Busch Gardens! How much fun would that be! I love that shoe That's My Baby on the Animal Planet...they did Baby Rhinos today and Hippos a couple days ago....so cute! I wish they would stay small...then I would want one! LOL

I had a hedgehog - Wilbur.
He was a great pet. Unique, easy to care for, low maintenance, didn't smell, great topic of conversation, fascinating to company, and the cutest face you'll every lay eyes on.
