  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

The kingdom already came, is here, and within the elect. What you're thinking about is salvation. Two different things.

The Kingdom of God spans earth and heaven. His Kingdom is both heaven, and within Man. That's why when Christ says "my kingdom is not of this world" the "world" is the earth, and we know who rules over it, and we know when and why he was granted permission to do so.

What was the reason why, again, good sir? I've forgotten or I never read that part.

I think the "kingdom of heaven" and the physical place of heaven are different. The kingdom of Heaven I think is our spiritual inheritance, what we obtain by the Holy Spirit. Its our eternal resting place spiritually.
But after we die we are our spirits but we still will be eternal spiritual and physical beings residing in a specific place noted as heaven.

If we look at scripture the word heaven is used in different ways to describe different places. In the beginning of the Bible we are told He made the HeavenS and the Earth. More than one heaven. The sky and universe are considered heavens in the Bible, there will be a new heaven and a new earth.
Scripture gives us many examples of Heaven that shows its not just one place but multiple. And its my belief that the kingdom of God within men is the spiritual place we go when we have accepted Christ and are being led by the Holy Spirit. Something we will keep even after death.

It may not change your view but i hope it helps you understand.

If the kingdom of heaven is within man, then why do we think of it as being after death?

1) That's not the statement that's made, in Luke 17:21 the statement is Ἰδού, γὰρ ἡ βασιλεία τοῦ θεοῦ ἐντὸς ὑμῶν ἐστιν, "see, for the reign of God within/amidst you is" that is, "See, for the reign of God is in your midst". This is not speaking of God's kingdom or reign as being some fuzzy spiritual interior reality to us as individuals, but a pronouncement that the reign of God is manifest in the midst of those who were opposing it, in the person of Jesus.

2) The idea that the kingdom of God is some ethereal, otherworldly afterlife is part of a modern misconception concerning what God's kingdom is. The kingdom of God, or more accurately the reign or royal authority of God, is not a place it is the reality of God as king which, as Jesus preached, was breaking into our world; the inbreaking of God's kingdom through Jesus' person and ministry, its inauguration found in His death and resurrection. The kingdom isn't a place that we can point to, nor is it some fuzzy interior spiritual reality, it's the reality of God graciously and lovingly breaking into and invading our world through Christ, to rescue and redeem not just us, but the whole of creation.

I apologize to anyone reading this. Don't let them lead you astray by their silver tongues, and remember that they wouldn't be doing this if they weren't injured and foolish because of their injuries. If I knew how, I'd delete this thread.

You don't like it when people disagree with you, so you want their comments censored?
