I came across this question from another web site, and thought that this would be an excellent topic...
I must confess, heaven doesnt excite me all that much. I see artists renditions and hear the biblical descriptions. For some reason, it just doesnt push my buttons. Whats wrong?
If we think that the earth is a wonderful place to live, with all it's beauty, and we are here only for a short time, then Heaven will be a much better place because first of all, Jesus said:
Joh 14:3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also. Rev. gives a wonderful picture of what we have to look forward to, but really ... it is only a small picture... listen...
Isa 64:4 For since the beginning of the world men have not heard, nor perceived by the ear, neither hath the eye seen, O God, beside thee, what he hath prepared for him that waiteth for him.
and again it is recorded:
1Co 2:9 But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.
On top of all that, we are going to have new bodies, praise Jesus... no more sickness, disease, or death. WOW... yeah... lets get excited, for we have something to shout about and to look forward to.
