  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Daniels asks: "Do you believe heaven and kingdom of God [are the] same or different one?"

I believe they are probably different.

There is the Kingdom of God.
Part of that Kingdom of God is Heaven.
Or, if not, then ALL of that Kingdom is contained in Heaven.

I think that there (probably) are other places "beyond" this World than just Heaven and Hell.
Jesus talked about Abraham's Bosom (an Afterlife for Jews).
If that place exists, then that would be part of the Kingdom of God.
And, if the Catholics are correct, there is also Purgatory.
So, maybe the Kingdom of God has a lot of places (maybe not).
Could you explain that using scripture. I'm not familiar wih the places beyond heaven and hell your talking about.

Abraham's bosom was showing the gap between heaven and hell but not another place I don't think. Purgatory was paradice, wasn't it, and ended when Jesus went to release the captibes. What other places?
I think only heaven hell and earth are mentioned in the bible.

Here is a copy of the message we were all asked to read before posting on this forum:

"Deeper Fellowship member intro"

" Please sign in for an introduction to deeper fellowship forum."

Edification means uplifting enlightment.

So we ask that it be kept to that.

We ask that debatable material be left on the debate forums, no intimadation that causes others to leave the forum to give place to bully tactics, and that a peaceful, safe environment be maintained.

Welcome to the forum and God bless your time here. Please abide by this in Jesus' love."

Heaven. What an awesome topic. Just thinking about it makes me joyful.

When Jesus was here on earth, He said, "The kingdom of heaven is at hand," Matthew 4:17. "At hand," one of my commentators says, means "has come" or "has arrived" or "is here." I believe that this idea relates to the Scripture where Jesus is talking about His imminent crucifixion, and He says, "Now is the judgment of this world, now the ruler of this world will be cast out," John 12:31 The "ruler of this world" is Satan, John 12:31; 14:30; 16:11.

Putting these verses together, when Jesus says that the kingdom of heaven is at hand, I believe that He is not so much referring to place but authority, not to geography but rulership. The King has come. He has nailed all the accusations and requirements against us to His cross, Col. 2:14. And now, wherever we go with the King in our hearts and His word on our lips, we cast out the ruler of this world. Now, from the moment Jesus died, is the time for us to take our place of authority that Adam lost, Gen. 1:28, but Jesus regained. We win.

So, the "kingdom of heaven" is authority, rulership. Not place, not the same thing as heaven.

So many of the newer topics posted on this forum are not following the above. I'm not blaming anyone, I'm just thinking about asking the moderators to remove them to other, more appropriate sections.
at least they can't open threads on their first post ^_^

deeper fellowship means fellowship. not rattling off scripture straight out of a textbook or just from the bible and no topic attatched to it. how do you fellowship and learn from that it's not edifying fellowship, it's posting a million one liners wso those who spend time on threads are just wasting time when theres a million of them going up. what if everyone did that?

Please remember that this is not a debate post. It is, as was stated earlier, specifically in the Edification and Deeper Fellowship sections for the purpose of encouragement and fellowship.

Please be reminded of the following Christian Forums RULES when responding in this thread:

2.1 No Flaming

You will not "flame" other members or groups of members. Flaming includes, but is not limited to:
- Ridiculing, insulting, or demeaning another member or group of members;
- Ridiculing another member's beliefs;
- Ridiculing public figures important to another's religious beliefs;
- Stating or implying that another member or group of members who have identified themselves as Christian are not Christian;
- Calling or describing other people, groups, belief-systems, or ideas as heresy or a cult (or derivatives of these words). Instead of using these emotionally charged words, please state "X is wrong because of Y" rather than using these words in polemical discussion;
- Asking loaded questions that directly cause flames in response;
- Using sarcasm to attempt any of the above; and
- Threats of any sort, including advocating or supporting physical or mental harm against another living creature (this creature clause does not apply to political discussions of military action, hunting/fishing discussions nor ethical discussions of capital punishment).

2.8 No Off-Topic

You will not 'de-rail' or 'hijack' threads by making posts unrelated to the original post or other posts in the thread. You will not create threads unrelated to the topic of a forum or subforum.

Thanks. God bless.
