Hey,

I may be wrong here.. But I always thought Heaven (when we died, where for eternity) wasn't on Earth. What's this New Earth that's created then? Is it just for the 1000 year reign? God will live in the New Jerusalem, right? But how can like.. all of us, live on Earth.. its kinda confusing me, Help appreciated.

(Rev 21:1) And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.

new earth: new is kainos = new in regards to freshness, not age. This earth will be refreshed in part as a result of the cleansing of 2 Pet. 3:10-12.

New Jerusalem will descend to earth from "heaven" (Rev. 21:10). The area where Jerusalem sits is God's most favorite place, with which He made an eternal convanent (Ezek. 16). It will be (approx.) a 1500 by 1500 mile cube (Rev. 21:16, though some say pyramid-shaped).

And there will be no more sea (Rev. 21:1), so there will be plenty of room for everybody, especially after we get rid of the goobers.

(Psa 104:5) Who laid the foundations of the earth, that it should not be removed for ever.

for ever. Sometimes this means for the duration of time allotted, but not in this case. The Hebrew is owlam 'ad = for ever and always.

This earth will not be destroyed.

I do not believe in the 1000 year kingdom. With all of the numerical symbols in Revelations and in OT prophecies why take this one as literal??? Why not also say that only 144,000 will be saved? Plus, Peter says that to the Lord, "1000 years is a day, a day is like 1000 years."

Hello ps139.

I won't hold anybody's beliefs against them. There is a lot of symbolism in Revelation to be sure. Discerning what is symbolic and what is not requires years of study and is an ongoing process, in my opinion.

The reason we cannot say that only 144,000 will be saved is because it is not written. Rev. 7 only speaks of sealing...not salvation, though I'm sure that they are saved.

And that sealing only speaks of the tribes of Israel, but then it goes on to say that "a great multitude, which no man could number, of all nations, and kindreds, and people, and tongues, stood before the throne, and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, and palms in their hands;" (Rev 7:9)
