  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I have a friend at work with a child who was born with a heart containing only two chambers. About a year ago, he had surgery to fix a problem he was having with too much pressure in the heart. He will be having a similar surgery today at two o'clock.

His mother is probably the most incredible woman I have ever personally known. She has been dealing with this since his birth. Her first husband (his dad) couldn't handle it and left. Her second husband was the polar opposite and I can't remember exactly why, but that one didn't work out related to that reason. Gladly, she married again last fall. God has grown her enormously through all these trials and she is most certainly a light in all the darkness around her.

Please pray for Dylan (he's 13) and his mom in this incredibly difficult time. Also pray for those of us closest to her, so that we'll be in the best position to offer them our love and support.
