Aw, Teegan, I wish I had visited this section earlier and could have read your post before you edited and removed it. From the thread title alone I can empathize.

I've broken bones; had root canals, tooth aches, bee stings, surgeries; burned my hand; gotten stitches, and been afflicted with numerous maladies. Physical injuries and ailments often manifest and heal in more orderly and predictable ways. There are prescribed treatments, pain relievers, and anticipated recovery times. With a heart break it's in many ways more painful and distressing because you can't just put it in a sling or dab some aloe vera on it, and there's no prescription. It can be this absorbing, dominating, relentless, pulsating pain made all the more maddening because it's intangible and therefore far harder to mend. Time tends to be the best alleviator. Finding tangible ways to use your emotions can be helpful. I struggle with insomnia and tend to have emotions fog in on me then. I like to use the time to write poems, lyrics, and paint. Embarking on a new hobby or ambition can be helpful too because it gives you something to draw your emotions away from pain and redirect them towards a positive. Running and other forms of exercise, especially if out in nature, can be therapeutic.

Thanks Artemis97. Nothing in my life has gone the way I would like lately.
I've made some serious life altering decisions to take my life back. I need to keep my little sister safe and she is all that is important to me right now.
I guess I just feel alone making these decisions. :(

As Maya Angelou said, “courage is the most important of all the virtues because without courage, you can't practice any other virtue consistently.” I don't know what exactly you are facing, but it seems to me you have great deal of courage, as well as selfless love that prioritizes your sister's wellbeing. I hope you are also taking care of yourself.

I'm so sorry you're going through so much turmoil and grief. I think you're in Canada. I don't know if these resources will be of any help but I'll pass them along in case you think they might be.

If you need a safe place to stay they might be able to help you locate one, even if you're not in Toronto.

I'm an insomniac up at odd hours, and I'm a good listener. I used to have an advice column for my school's website, and that then sort of morphed into an Ask.Fm account where teens posts questions anonymously to get help. I'm definitely not an expert but I do have a least a tiny bit of experience, and am not easily fazed. I'm not on here that often but if you have Kik you can send me a message anytime at songofthelark. I'll also send my email address in a PM.
