  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I was a counsellor at horse camp this past summer. It was a lot of fun. Great group of kids, although not all of them were christians, I'm sure it was a memorible week for them all.
About 4 days into it, we'd all kinda gotten to know eachother fairly well(30 altogether) My two cousins Barbie and Candice were the female counsellors. We were all horsing around one evening after supper playing games and what not. My two cousins were trying to do this two person somersault kinda thing....I think it's called a camel flip or something. Anyway they were getting ready to do it and Barbie fell backwards while hanging on to Candice's legs. Really scary situation....Candice's neck compresses to the point where the base of her skull is about 6inches from her middle back. Everyone was watching and when this happened everyone freaked out, including me. Candice immediatly was in the fetal position moaning from pain and fear. I regathered myself as I knew God was in control. I sat down beside her and started praying with my hands over her neck. My uncle was there as well and was calling for an ambulance. We were way up in the mountains, so we needed a helicopter to get her out. After bout ten minutes of praying, I noticed all the kids had gathered around the fire about 60ft away. Some of them were crying and hugging eachother. There was a sadness there I didn't like. I got up from beside my cousin and ran over to the kids.
I told them all the enemy just took a cheap shot, a real personal one. I wasn't going to stand for it. This is our dominion and we have authority of the enemy through Jesus Christ!! I told them I've seen miracles before and that that day was no different then when Christ healed the sick 2000 years ago. I asked for all of us to join hands and asked each person to pray and cry out to God for healing over Candice. Everyone there prayed all at once. It was something else....so powerful. After a few minutes, I returned to Candice's side and continued praying with my hands over her neck.
Eventually the helicopter came and she was all shrapped in the gurney and everything. Before she was loaded in the helicopter I told her that we would see her the next day-by faith.
The next morning we were taking the kids swimming below some falls. We got to the picnic area where the falls were and were hanging out for a few minutes before my cousin Candice and her husband drive up in their Jeep! WOOO!! Praise God!! I was pumped. Talk about miracles. She was walking around hugging everyone and I was just so thankful.
If God has done miracles in your life, I'd like you to share them. Any kind, it doesn't matter.
He is The Healer!!

Flish, are you suggesting God hurt my cousin? The enemy has power if we give it to him. Which in today's society happens without people even realizing it.
For example, if you've ever felt a cold coming on or feel like your going to catch the flu, people say "Darn, I'm catching a cold". What do you think just happened? The enemy(spirit of sickness) was all over you and you accepted it. It's not God's Will for us to be sick or in pain or suffer. We have the authority through Jesus not to accept that stuff anymore. Yes we still live in a fallen world and only by and through Jesus is the way that the enemy is defeated.
The enemy takes cheap shots every day at everybody. It's because of sin that he's able to do that. Take bullying, for example. Did kids you know ever get picked on in school? God's not doing that to them....gosh....God's crying His eyes out because His creation is being persecuted. The enemy is just loving it because he's getting away with it.
If you did something wrong, would your parents break your neck? I doubt it.

don't you think its at all possible that your cousin simple broke her neck?! are you INCAPABLE of getting hurt unless its satan doing it? have you read the bible? because it says that as a child of god you are treated as a child. what father does not chasten his son? God makes does punish us for our sins. your cousin WAS NOT PUNISHED. but not attacked either. Jesus and God can not be defeated by anyone. satan can only DECEIVE you. this world is painful and things do hurt, but it was like that before adam and eve ate the fruit. the serpent didnt bite anyone did he? he simply tempted. thats all can do with christ in your life. the word of god is of love and the gospel. saying "satan took a cheap shot" is not of love and not of the gospel. therefore the spirit that made you say it was not the spirit of God, but a deceitful one who looks like God. It's our focus on the enemy that prevents us from living and being like Jesus. if Jesus was in you he would not have given any credit to satan, but he would have comforted as you did. but you gave credit to satan and comforted. the result is that your comfort also placed fear of an enemy that cant you into their hearts. God never changes, but everything else does. when god came to us in the flesh and died for our sins and was resurrected 3 days later and brought up to heaven, satan lost all his power. he is nothing but a liar now and he used you to deceive them. and for these things i say to you, you would beg that my life be ended. and you would do the same to jesus if he came to you and corrected you in the flesh. christianity is not a bunch of fun and games where we get to fight the enemy, its a hard narrow path full of stumbling stones and the world has forgotten who the Lord is. repent

well im from texas but God has sent me to south dakota. Im only 21 and i am a college student and live with my terminal grandmother and work at a retirement home. I play gospel music for everyone I know and am a worship leader at an Indian school. I am paying for my sins (sorcery [man i cant spell at all] theft, adultry, fornication, disobeying my parents, envy, and though i havent told the story yet i am responsible for potential [I dont know if it happened] murder) all of which were committed while following my god that i believed to be God. Now that Jesus has come into my life and taught me how to discern between Him and the deciever, I am preparing for seminary and regularly discuss my testimony, dreams, and interpretations with a few pastors. I believe I am to be an example of how to follow Christ and how to know when you are not following him (though you think you are). It's really important to me that people understand who Christ really is, and how to tell if a message is the Word of God. Please read my post, cause I don't want anyone else to have to go through what I did.

No, I understand what your saying, but I don't agree with it. I've read your testimony and can't imagine actually what that would of been like to go through.
'Paying for your sins' though, did Christ not take care of that already? How exactly are you paying for them?

Christ did take care of it, I am forgiven. However, every time I read the Bible and they talk about salvation and eternal life, I get this sinking feeling because I know that I have done far too much to have access. And every time i love something of this earth, like girls, family, materials, it always seems to burn before me.. my ultimate goal is to be like Christ, and God is my refining fire hoping to help me achieve this goal.

I have been made to give up my desires, and I want a lot, so that I can give everything away and serve every man I meet. The ONLY thing that makes me happy anymore is preaching the gospel, but no ears listen. I am despised for my beliefs and faith in Christ alone, and I am called a liar by most everyone because of who I am and what I have done. I do not look like what a disciple looks like, nor do I behave like a disciple does, because todays disciples are in the church and I am not. Religion does not want me, and I do get kicked out of churches for using the gifts the spirit has given me. I believe this to be payment for my sins.

I must be weak for Him to be strong, and when I gain or become proud, all that I say and do is used against me until I am weak again. I get so excited to spread the Word He has given me, and when I am excited there is no one to share it with. When I spend time getting ready in the morning trying to look good, I lose focus on the Lord and my day goes by with no joy. See, in my mission to bring people to accept Christ and stop accepting the enemy I have lost the joy of this world.

Flish,
your desires are God ordained. I'd suggest loving on people more, if their not listening. Worship the Lord until your exhausted. *Joy bomb*
Religion wants you though, but you don't want it. You want Faith, then you can move mountains through Jesus, literaly.
Your sins don't need payment anymore. Christ took care of it, He washed them away. The law won't see it that way, but God's grace will.
Bless you Brother
