In my further investigation is seems that they do not necessarily teach John Sandford's doctrine thus promoting the man but seek to be continually lead by the Holy Spirit. They respect his ministry as well as those of others in healing ministry in the past. gg
I'm hoping this is so. Some of the others who are involved in this locally (well, in this state) are also not promoting the more spurious doctrines. But by association, they can enter the picture and poison the pot. If this happens, many will be shipwrecked in their faith and will need even more prayer to come back right again.

I guess I'm glad I'm such a sceptic. Someone needs to be standing on the rock shining a light. If needed. I'll know when I see it first hand.

Libre, this will be my last comments to be aware, as I don’t want to bore you or really delve into the past, but the past keeps coming up, in regards to Todd Bentley and the supposedly “Lakeland Revival”, and the many who promoted him to extreme without any Biblical thought and conscious. They all promote their “healing rooms”.

Paul Cain is one such person who promotes his “healing rooms”, and the same person famously lied, unrebuked, while prophesying at one of Tod Bentley’s so-called “revivals” last year. Paul Cain claimed that he had been “a celibate all his life”, when it is well known throughout the Body of Christ that he had fallen a number of years earlier to multiple homosexual relationships, as well as to drunkeness.

Cain was restored back into ministry just before this incident at Lakeland, and funny enough with many glowing false prophecies from those members of the apostlic-prophetic movement, such as Rick Joyner, Patrcia King, Bob Jones and many more.

Paul Cain’s lie on that night was exposed for what it was and publically criticised; and sadly so did a number of other lies that came from those members of the apostlic-prophetic movement, in misleading and contradictory versions of the “truth” in their statements that they fed to the media. Such statements claimed that Paul Cain had been ”misunderstood” or whatever any other reason they tried think up in order to try and cover over Cain’s sin, and to hide their own sin and lack of discernment in allowing the deception to take place in the first place, and then after it took place, let it remain uncorrected and unrebuked. This scenario is exactly the same as in case of the Todd Bentley, who also promoted “healing rooms”.

Anyway, John Sandford from Elijah House made an interesting statement on the restoration of Paul Cain on Cain’s website, approximately five weeks after Paul Cain’s infamous incident at Lakeland. This statement was written as a belief that the time period was considered ample for Paul Cain’s restoration back into ministry after lying to the Body of Christ, and is much the same, as in the Todd Bentley saga!

The statement gives excuses and they still deny that he was a naughty boy, and that the claims made by other people, lack truth; and on the next hand they say he has confessed and repented! Well, Paul Cain didn’t confess or repent to the Body of Christ. There were all the laughable diaglogue and double talk, about sorting out the “root issues”, but they didn’t sort out all the lies, false teaching, and false prophecy; and they completely ignored the Biblical commands about the restoration process of fallen leaders.

We need to be aware of the many “healing rooms” that are around and the seduction, deception and falseness of some. The other person that deserves to be mentioned is Steve Dittmar, the Pastor of Jubille church, Camarillo, CA who not only has Paul Cain regularly ministering at his church, but also has a testimonial on Cain’s website promoting and supporting him.

John Sandford said this on Paul Cain’s website in June 2008:

To whom it may Concern,
This is to inform that I have spent several days in intensive ministry with Paul Cain. He was very receptive, open and hungry to receive help. Some time ago, over eager to find acceptance, Paul made some statements which some felt were self-excusing or whitewashing. If there was any truth to that charge then, there is not now. Paul Cain has faced his mistakes and sins squarely, repented, confessed, and has received forgiveness.

We sought out and dealt with many root issues as well.

I want to recommend to the Body of Christ that we receive Paul Cain again with open hearts and minds. Any of us can get off track. The mark of our Lord is redemption and reinstatement. My hope is that we who are the Body of Christ will evidence our Lord’s grace in relation to Paul.

Our Lord’s Way is not only to restore us to acceptance and functionality but to resurrect us to His original vision and purpose for us. In the end of our time of ministry, I “saw” that Paul Cain had been called and intended to be an early apostle of the prophetic movement, to lead and teach many in the proper prophetic use of the gifts of the Holy Spirit, a forerunner for the Body. Please join me in recognizing this as Paul Cain’s calling in the Lord, and in prayers for his full restoration to what God intended him to be in the beginning. We need that ministry, Paul’s ministry. Let’s love him into it.

With continuing prayers for Paul Cain and for the Body of Christ, I am

John Loren Sandford,
Co-Founder, Elijah House Ministries, Inc.

June 15, 2008

No mention about his false teaching, false prophecy, lieing, homosexuality, etc.

Anyway, once again I say, be aware, beware, and don’t be unaware of some of these healing rooms.

Blessings.

It's OK. I want to look at it all from all points of view. Sandford follows a lot of Lake's teachings. They are all affiliated through the healing rooms international. But I make no judgment ahead of time. In September at the conference I will know.

My gauge is that as long as God is glorified, salvation by grace through faith is preached, and Jesus is lifted up and is the focus,
I don't let the side issues distract me too much. If I did, I would never find a place of fellowship or ministry, since I would always find something to disagree with.
pretty much sums things up!

Mormons do preach that humanity originated in/with a "pre-existence".

re "salvation by Jesus' grace through faith, & God glorified" as in this emotional-healing  can take place...

Thanks, Elijah2. Got my Holy Spirit tin foil hat on. Joking... But I trust God to lead me, as he always has, into the right pastures.

Blessings to you,
Pat

My dear sister, you are wise enough to discern the real truth, and I pray that your spiritual eyes will be sharpened, in Jesus' Name.

Blessings.

Some in my church are very much into healing rooms. I live in WA where a lot of these began. In fact I am attending the Spiritual Hunger Conference in Spokane in Sept.

What do any of you know about the doctrines held by some of those who are a part of this movement? The healing rooms are closely associated with the teachings of Sandford and others in prophetic and inner healing ministry (ie Elijah House in Spokane WA)

I have read the some of these folks believe in the pre-existence of the soul or spirit. The Riveras, who do soaking music ministry, have a track on one of their CDs where they are asking God to open our eyes so we can see Him as we did before we were knit together in our mother's' womb. I find this disturbing, but wouldn't throw out the baby with the bath necessarily.

I highly respect my pastors and they support healing rooms. We are a Christian & Missionary Alliance, BTW.

Healing rooms have absolutely 'nothing' to do with doctrines. Whether someone believes pre-existance of soul or should we not eat shellfish has nothing to do with the actual healing rooms.

Healing rooms are just following a practice by Christ and the disciples spending time praying for healing...

Interesting thread, I have not had anything to do with healing rooms and am not against them, but did go to a training session with Curry Blake who is now following on from John G Lake.
I saw no healings and came out with more pain after he prayed for me, some of his ideas seemed off to me.

Interesting that this thread has popped up again after a whole year. I have taken the healing rooms training and am in the process of monitoring. (not sure if this is the correct term) with the group that meets at our church on Wednesdays. I haven't been since June as I was away all of July and just have been unable to go since returning. I like that it is not just one denomination that is represented on the teams. I like that people are pointed to Christ as the Healer. Often the direction of prayer veers away from physical to spiritual in individual sessions. But we do no deliverance ministry there at all. I have received prayer myself for physical pain with good effect. Many come and receive prayer as an adjunct to other forms of medical healing. The counsel is wise and wholesome and biblical. I believe God is glorified. There is a good community response to healing rooms. And it is totally without cost. gg
