Healing of the Nations

General discussion:

"In the midst of the street of it, and on either side of the river, was there the tree of life, which bare twelve manner of fruits, and yielded her fruit every month: and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations." -Rev. 22: (KJV)

We are told, that when Jesus comes back, we will see Him as He is because we will be like He is. (cf. 1 Jn. 3:2)

No sickness, no tears, all that is inherant in this life will be gone.

So why will there be healing of the Nations?

I have my own convictions, but I want to hear what others say.

My first thought is for the thousand year period in which Jesus rules. If you recall at the end of the thousand years satan is once again lose and the nations march against God. But this leaves me with more questions. Who are these people left in nations, are they those who have not received the mark of the beast? Is this a trail period?

A thought that came to me is Rev. 22 is the last chapter. Whatever is to happen, comes after the Millennial reign, and after the great white throne judgment, so that we, believers, are for lack of a better word, in eternity.

I don't know. Could the healing of nations be for a new earth? That's my guess.

“For behold, I create new heavens and a new earth; and the former things shall not be remembered or come into mind." - Isaiah 65:17

My thoughts after reading Rev 21 is the nations are the 12 tribes of Israel. The Kings of the tribes are the 12 Apostles. The main city will be in the middle east 1400 miles long and wide and high, the walls 216 feet thick. So this New Jerusalem will take up I big part in the middle east. I suspect the 12 kings will each have his own city and these are 12 nations of the 12 tribes. The whole earth will be heaven, and we know there are more people than can be counted. So we must live all over the earth still, with the center New Jerusalem, The City of The Great King.

I got to thank you for making me go read that. That is where my heart is, in that time. What a promise, what Glory God has, what Love. Its perfect everything I want, the only place I want to be. Great chapters there.
