  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Have a look through older threads. There are some clearly marked as questions about head covering.

This might help you to get an overview of the diversity of opinion.

As for sobriety...I know there were debates that Jesus never laughed during the turbulance of the later middle ages. Could you give a little more information so it is possible to grasp the context this phrase was used.?

The gentleman was talking about how he sometimes shoots out funny "one liner" jokes..and how it's not appropriate.

In my opinion, as long as the humor is clean it's not so bad. Of course I do laugh at some course jokes~

John MacArthur explains the joke thing rather well from the Greek. It is to do with coarse, badwy joking if one word is used (sorry I remember the gist of what he said but not the specifics) & witty innuendo if another word is used. Both forms of humour are condemed in scripture, but there is nothing against good clean humour.

I though sobriety was to do with the abstinence from alcohol. Wrong again, wrong again.
