  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

I rarely do laundry on Sunday but I've got a bit of backup at the washer so I've been forced to wash some clothes in order to dress the family tomorrow. Anyway, I was sitting here at my computer when my husband came in with sorted, folded whitewash!

Now don't get me wrong, my husband helps out ALL the time. He washes dishes, cooks or cleans for the kids, and vacuums. But he was watching the pre-game show! We have a rule during the game - no bugging daddy. It's his "thing" and it's just a couple hours on Sunday so you gotta give the guy his football. He works REALLY hard all week taking care of us and needs a break.

This may seem like a small gesture, but make no mistake - IT WAS HUGE! I mean HUGE. You guys want to show your wives you appreciate them, love them, respect them? Do something they dispise (without being asked). I will deffinately be taking care of this guy later!

I love it when my hubby does that! In fact, after seeing me stressing so much about my workload (homeschooling, housework, etc.) he took it upon himself to become the "official launderer"...so now, I don't have to worry about doing the laundry! Husbands are SOOO appreciated when they do the small stuff that means so much to us!

AMEN to you and your husband! :amen: That happened to me two weeks ago too. My husband just came in to the bedroom one day while I was folding the white clothes and he started helping me without even being asked. Usually I have to ask him to help me for him to do so, but THIS time, he just sat down and helped out. It impressed me and made me feel blessed! My husband is also very helpful around the house, cooks, works around the house, fixes things, cars, etc. I guess it doesn't take much to make us women feel happy. It's the *little* things that mean so much. Of course we expect the *big* things to be done. That's a given. ;) JUST KIDDING!! I say "Hallelujah" to the men in our lives!

:D at him getting taken care of later.

I know what you mean. It does mean alot doesn't it. Don't get me flowers, chocolates, or balloons, just clean something as a surprise and I feel like it's Christmas. My husband is the same way too, I took out the trash one morning and let him sleep in. He woke up a bit distressed because he had missed the pick up time, but was happy and appreciative when he found out I took the garbage to the end of the road. I was sooo thrilled one day when he did all of the dishes here.

I also did that tonight because he's painting the house and I got a nice long two hour nap while he took care of the girls.

It must be in the air...go husbands go!

I didn't say everything is done "correctly" but what I've learned after 14 years is that I don't care that much about what a shirt looks like in the drawer, just that it got there!! I'm not Martha Stewart and frankly, I don't want to be!! ;) You should try it again and see if you can ask your wife to show you how, so you'll do it the way she would like it done. Or just pitch in while she's folding. She'll probably appreciate the gesture even if she needs to finish it herself.

I love doing things for my wife, helping out around the house. She likes it when I do dishes and pick up and help with the laundry and stuff, but I've found there are particular things that REALLY make a differance to her. I've found that once I find out what those things are they become things that I really love to do. I know some of my friends struggle to find those things that their wives appreciate more. I encourage you ladies to help your husband discover those things. Believe me you'll make him just as happy discoving the small acts of service that please you as those small acts of service make you.
