He filed for legal separation...

So I had a feeling that something was off this morning, but I just couldn't put my finger on it. That and the fact that my father-in-law who doesn't speak to me was soooo eager to get me to get something that "someone" had for me at the door and I just knew what it was so I wasn't surprised. My husband acted as if everything was okay the past few days and he pulls this on me. He has filed for legal separation but where we live, I don't see the point of doing this and we may as well just divorce. Am I wrong in thinking this way? I've posted before about my husband and even though he's still around (I hate when he comes and goes as he feels), he hasn't said a word to me about anything. I have nothing to say to him so I've said nothing...i'm numb. I hope to see a lawyer by Monday to determine what I have to do. From what I gather, he is wanting to kick me out of the house and take custody of our son, albeit joint custody (which I am not okay with since he doesn't have time for him now). Any advice? I have no experience in this as my wife relunctly agreed to me taking my son interstate. i will do my best to remember to pray for you. I would imagine the lawyer would advise you to gather evidence yhat he is not around.
