here's how I see it God sometimes removes from us the feeling of His presence.. but He is still with us. And in this time, we can learn how to love Him completely disinterestedly, selflessly, because we are loving Him by choice alone.. and that's how we grow. We begin to love God more for His own sake, less for how He makes us feel, during these 'dark nights'. Just as our faith grows when it's difficult to believe, so does our love grow. But that being said I know how you feel, and it's very painful. Sooner or later, when it's God's will, it would end. Remember He loves you the same as always, and that is an infinite love that we wouldn't be able to experience on this earth at all, because its' too much for us.

But still my heart aches. I know all this is true. It's doubly hard because as a training pastor, I have to get up and pray and praise anyway. But I'm learning that THAT is what God wants. I know my singing was off today. But to God, I know it was great, because it was despite my emotions, not because of them.

Ohhh Christ my Happiness! why do You sometimes appear so far from me? forgive me my Love because I know it is I who am far and You who are constant....even so my heart aches when it sees not You...LORD! where is Your whisper, Your touch, Your kiss upon my poor longing heart?? Jesus Dearest, how is it You today appear in Your full tunic within my heart and other times You show me Your sacred side? Oh to have the vision of Your wounds forever! My heart is longing and yearning for You my GOD JESUS! O Jesus my Father-Brother, how I faint in adoration before You!!!

I had been feeling just as you have, Storm Dancer my sister, because I have been caught up in schoolwork and sometimes had not enough time to do much more than sigh out the name of Jesus. Last night I had so much work I did not sleep...I just lay down for an hour between the time I finished and the time I had to wash up to get on the train homeward for Church....and I prayed to our Beloved....

Lo and behold He appeared as His loving self in my heart and radiated the love He usually does. He was with me- of course He is always with all of us but like you said we do not always feel His intimacy...but today I felt it! I was in Jesus' arms all day! He will come soon to you in His own intimate loveliness...it just makes your heart sing....

I have a feeling that this is because when your heart aches and aches for Jesus, when He comes He's bringing all sorts of happiness and bliss with Him! O JESUS our hearts are bursting for YOU!!

well stormdancer, monica, jonathan as I read your sharing my eyes filled with tears and i could sense Jesus sympathy and compassion for you. We must always recall our Beloved hung on the cross for us and understands intimately even the deepest longings and fears in our hearts because He experienced them even more intensely. I appreciate your honesty and encouagement to one another. we are ALL in this together!!!

So tonight I opened my He And I and my eyes fell on this passage:

Jesus speaks...

"It is late...I am there. I am waiting. I am patient, for I am eternal. Even if all who are expected don't come. Even if half of them are not there, if a single repentant sinner would find heaven agian, your prayers would be changed into joy as the tears of the woman who gave birth to a Son!"

So by the grace of our Lord let's take this longing pain of ours and offer it to Jesus. aren't we experiencing His intercession for sinners? He longs! We LONG in union with Yeshua!

Praise God for his gift of letting us share in the sorrow of our Lord and Savior Yeshua, When upon the cross He cried out to Father, Why have you forsaken me? When we experience the desert and it's dryness are we not sharing in Jesus sorrow? When we see others that are lost and forsaken do we not share in his tears over Jerusalem? Sometimes it seems that love grows when we are separated from the one we love. There are times when it seems as though God is far away when in truth He is inside of us by the Holy Spirit. Even though we can not "feel" Him I know by faith that He is near so I praise Him even when I feel Him not. That is faith believing in His word and not what we feel. For feelings come and go and I can not base my faith upon feelings.
It is good that we are able to share our lonliness with our fellow brothers and sisters and that we have all had this experience. I do know and encourage you all that He is here no matter what we may experience.

Yes...Jesus always mercifully carries us in His heart. "apart from Me you can do nothing!" All by His grace! All our experiences shared with Jesus.

Here's some encouragement from Jesus: pp 131

Take a steady look at your failures and stains, and offer them to Me that I may wash them away. Tell Me how weak you are and how often you fail. Say: 'My great Friend, help Me. You know only too well how helpless I am, but with You I can do anything.' Then go on your way again, trusting in Me day by day. You understand?
