Hawaii is under a blizzard warning

It’s been unseasonably warm in CO with no snow. I guess the snow went on vacation.

According to Ken Rubin, an assistant professor of geology and geophysics at the University of Hawaii, "it snows here every year, but only at the very summits of our three tallest volcanoes (Mauna Loa, Mauna Kea and Haleakala)."

"The snow level almost never gets below 9,000 feet in Hawaii during the winter, but since these mountains are taller than 13,600 feet, 13,700 feet and 10,000 feet, respectively, they get dusted with snow a few times a year. It rarely stays on the ground for more than a few days though."

I think this is unusual even for the summits. Plus, 100 mph winds? That can't be good.

Yes, It could be very unusual. But it will still be the summits. Look at what happened in Texas. Now that was extremely unusual.

Maybe some people don't know that you can ski in Australia as well. You can surf Bondi in the morning and be skiing in the afternoon in The Snowy Mountains (5 hours south of Sydney).

I was there a couple of years ago. We started some travelling in March and thought the S W of the US would be warm enough to start. Never bothered to check. Thought I'd be walking around in T shirt. Wife took my picture on Route 66 next to a six foot snowman. My wife doesn't ski so I missed out doing a few runs. A few days later and it was just over 100 degrees crossing Texas.

Is it a sign of the end times that people are hot for the end times?

If one is to assume that Christian eschatology is a real thing and take the "no one will know the day nor the hour" thing to heart I would think that there is an inverse relationship between how hot people are for the end times and how iminent they are.

Went to Oahu once years ago (which has Honolulu) for vacation time with wife who went to a conference for a while, and we walked up near a summit, and it was an interesting change in weather going up there, with strong wind and just different weather, mist, and so on, than down below. Kinda fun and surprising, and I wished I had warmer clothes if I recall.
