I notice every time I ask for forgiveness I end up committing the same sin again. I want to have victory over this sin. When I pray for God to forgive me I'm not sure if hes fed up with me and not forgiving me anymore. A brother in christ said to cry out to Jesus in prayer like a dying man and you would feel his peace to know he has forgiven you. The thing is I have no Godly sorrow so I can't literally cry I thought repentance was from the heart? Please help me resolve this issue because I want to walk in victory and have forgiveness from God

I notice every time I ask for forgiveness I end up committing the same sin again.

That's describing a lot of Christians. If sin were easy to overcome there'd have been no need to bolt the Christ to a tree.

I want to have victory over this sin. When I pray for God to forgive me I'm not sure if hes fed up with me and not forgiving me anymore.

He's not. But don't take my word for it, look at the scriptures and what they teach about God's forgiveness. Look at it this way as long as you're still here and working out your salvation God is still forgiving.

A brother in christ said to cry out to Jesus in prayer like a dying man and you would feel his peace to know he has forgiven you.

Emotions and our feelings are a dangerous gauge to rely on.

The thing is I have no Godly sorrow so I can't literally cry I thought repentance was from the heart?

If repentance is proven by tears I'm in real deep, deep, deep trouble. No, repentance is proven by our will to do what is right in God's sight. Notice I didn't say our ability, or the end result of what we want to do, but it is proven by what is in our hearts to do. Only you know if you're truly repentant or not, but if you start to believe that you need to cry to be repentant you'll fail more often than not.

Please help me resolve this issue because I want to walk in victory and have forgiveness from God

The question isn't if God has forgiven you and I. The question is are we willing to humble ourselves and accept it?

Well repentance means to turn from what you are doing. Ask the Lord to bring conviction to your heart about your sin. He does forgive you if you truly repent. If you sin again and ask Him to forgive you and really mean it, He forgives you again. God does not get "fed up" with us. He loves us. Yes, sometime we have to pay the price of our sinning. But He still forgives you and will restore you. That's the awesome thing about Jesus!

Also ask the Lord for power and strength to not sin. Don't go by your feelings like whether you feel guilty or convicted etc. If you are in sin and know it...stop doing it. Whether you "feel" like it or not. Feelings follow actions.Accept His forgiveness and move on.

I had the same problem. I would sin, pray to God to forgive me, then end up doing it again. I didn't know what was wrong with me, and it really drew me away from God.

Until i heard a song called "Will you take me as i am" which changed my thinking.

I started praying to God saying things like "God, i'm not strong enough to do this on my own, please help change me."
and now I have found myself doing that sin less and less

~ are condition of the flesh proves we are weak.
Your distress suggests you are grieved inwardly over the matter.
Trust ultimately in the Word of God over emotion. Ask for repentance if it feels hollow within you? Ask for the Holy Spirit each day. With God's Word dwelling within and the Holy Spirit taking part in your daily life you will find the world grow pale in the light of the Lord.

Psalm 119 "Thy word is a lamp unto my feet."
Worldly distractions may come but you will be equiped in Christ when they do present themselves.

Lastly, Jesus Himself is the author and finisher of your faith and prayer with the expectation that God honors His Word moves mountains. ~ Grow in the things that belong to the Lord. the poor, the widow , the fatherless. Once our eyes are open to the work of God's kingdom you'll be less apt to meander over trivial's regarding the flesh. ~ May the Lord bless you and keep you in His ways.
