Having Some Trouble....

The more I study the bible the more I seem to be losing my faith..
There seems to be a lot of contradictory material,(For example Gen 22:1 & James 1:13) but I don't want to lose my faith in god
plz HELP

this is kind of unrelated but i was wondering... when you become a priest, do you get a choice in the young boy you want to molest? or is it pre determined? please help i want to know before i make the choice!!!

but I believe you get to choose

The Bible never contradicts itself. Our interpretations may be contradictory, but God can't contradict Himself and the whole Bible is His Word.
Genesis 22:1 is talking about God testing Abraham's faith, seeing if He will put Him above everything else, even his son. James 1:13 is saying that God won't tempt us to sin. He may place us in situations were we will be tempted, but He Himself doesn't actually tempt us.
