Yes, it is horrible...
and we need to stay sensitive
to the Spirit, and never come close
to that sin...

I started a thread the other day
on 'sins against the Holy Spirit'
and am discussing all of them...

this one is the worst...

Matthew 12:31
"WHEREFORE I SAY UNTO YOU,
'ALL MANNER OF SIN AND BLASPHEMY
SHALL BE FORGIVEN UNTO MEN;
BUT THE BLASPHEMY
AGAINST THE HOLY SPIRIT
SHALL NOT BE FORGIVEN UNTO MEN.
AND WHOSOEVER SPEAKS A WORD
AGAINST THE SON OF MAN,
IT SHALL BE FORGIVEN HIM,
BUT WHOSOEVER SPEAKS AGAINST THE HOLY SPIRIT,
IT SHALL NOT BE FORGIVEN HIM,
NEITHER IN THIS WORLD,
NEITHER IN THE WORLD TO COME.'"

Mark 3:29
"BUT HE THAT SHALL BLASPHEME
AGAINST THE HOLY SPIRIT
HATH NEVER FORGIVENESS,
BUT IS IN DANGER OF ETERNAL DAMNATION."

Blasphemy against the Spirit is sin, but not all sin against the Spirit is blasphemy.

The devil likes to get some saints
to think that some thoughtless words
in their past were 'blasphemy'...

if they are feeling conviction,
obviously, it was not the unpardonable sin,
for after sinning the unpardonable sin,
there would be no conviction,
for all conviction originates from the Spirit,
and if He is still trying to save one,
then they have not sinned the unpardonable sin...

To utter words against God willfully,
malignantly, and
knowingly
is blasphemy.

Not one of the Trinity is more sacred,
or more than equal than the others.

So why is the blasphemy against the Spirit worse than blasphemy against Jesus or God the Father?

It is because of their jobs.
Jesus takes people to God.
It is the Spirit that brings people to Jesus.

So the "Initiator" is the Spirit.
He starts the process of bringing people to salvation.
He brings the conviction that makes one want to become saved. So if He is grieved so much that He ceases to make a person want to get saved, then that person will never repent to Jesus, so Jesus can forgive.

The SINNER>

is convicted by the>>>SPIRIT,

Who leads to >>>CHRIST,

Who restores fellowship with >>>>GOD

If a person blasphemes Christ, the Spirit is still working to bring the person to Jesus in repentance.

If one blasphemes the Spirit, who then will convict that one to bring them to Christ for repentance???

The unpardonable sin causes the person to never again feel conviction.

If one feels conviction,
then that person has not sinned
the unpardonable sin.

I know a man,
who was one of the head ones of the KKK
in this area...
a big man, having been doing in that organization
things that now he is totally ashamed of doing...

when he was a teen,
a pastor told him to 'cut his hair'...
but in his rebellious teen years,
he refused...

the pastor told him that he had
committed the unpardonable sin
by disobeying his command to cut his hair,
for the Spirit was giving him that message...

so the young man believed that he never
could be saved...
he got more and more sinful, hateful,
etc...
and joined the KKK...

when I met him,
and was sent by his family to start witnessing
to him...
he grew hungry for God,
but believed he could never be saved,
so why try...

one day, I listened to his story as to why
he had become as he had...
I showed him the Scriptures,
and showed him that Jesus still loved him,
and his desire to be saved proved he could be...

he accepted Jesus,
cried for three hours... in joy...
called his mother, and wept with her...

a few days later,
he called me to come over again...
I went...
he gave me several boxes...
and asked me to dispose of the contents for him...

in the boxes were his hood and robe
of the kkk
and his books, secret books that no
non KKK were supposed to ever see...

I glanced over them
but the hate, evil, malice, Scriptural lies,
etc in them sickened me...

I had thought of using them as a
sermon illustration some day,
but when I got home,
I started a fire and burnt them...

they made me feel sick to even have
them beside me in the car,

soon, on another visit,
I learned that this man had gotten a new
friend... a man of another race,
was coming over daily and fellowshipping with him...
he has a great testimony,
and called those of the kkk and gave
his testimony...

of course, for a while,
maybe still, I was not very popular
with that group in town...
(but that is another story, lol)

the fear of having sinned the unpardonable
sin is oft used by the devil to make some
give up wanting to be saved...

beware that trick...

I saw the news broadcast on it. The guy that ripped the page out of the Bible is a total moron. He talks about logic, and thus uses that as an excuse to deny the existence of God, while failing to grasp how illogical it really is not to believe in God.

I've spent a great deal of time studying the discipline of Apologetics, and can say with surety that those who deny the existence of God are exactly what the Bible declares them to be--fools.

It's really not an issue of debate anymore, but IQ. Those who deny the existence of God are not thinking properly.

I admit that I am outraged by this movement for the same reason why the news reporter was outraged. This man is manipulating children and teens to become hateful people. I pity those who have fallen into his devilish snare.

We should pray about this.

This movement is catching on.
We need to pray it doesn't take it's toll even further :( ...

To pray is good, but to act is also good. We need to do what we can to educate ourselves in the discipline of Apologetics so that we can educate these people on how to think this thing through properly.

A good book to start with is Mere Christianity by C.S. Lewis
After reading that I recommend Unshakable Foundations by Norman Geisler. You can get it here: http://www.normgeisler.com/

Please note that I do not agree with everything these men teach on a theological/doctrinal level. Nevertheless, on matters of Philosophy and Apologetics they are excellent resources. As always, it is best to compare what people teach with what is written in the Holy Scriptures to see that it measures up with what God declares to be true.

I watched a few. Very sad. They think it's a joke and a way to mock Christianity which is just another man made philosophy to them. In reality, they're making fools of themselves. What they don't realize is that their video is going to be waiting for them when they check out from this life.

Actor Kirk Cameron and best-selling author Ray Comfort will square off with two atheists
in New York on Saturday, May 5.

ABC originally planned to stream the 90-minute debate LIVE on their website,
but decided to reschedule the broadcast to capture a larger audience.

They will broadcast the entire debate on ABC.com on Wednesday, May 9 at 2:00 p.m. EST.

The debate will be moderated by Martin Bashir, and on May 9 a shortened version of the debate
will be aired on Nightline also on Wednesday 9th.

Comfort -- who claims he can prove the existence of God, scientifically, without mentioning faith or the Bible -- stated, "The network originally offered me only four minutes to present my case. After speaking with Kirk and conferring with the atheists, they settled on 13 minutes. I'm ecstatic. I can prove the existence of God in that amount of time.

"We are very grateful to ABC for taking this courageous step," Comfort continued. "As far as we know, nothing like this has ever been done before. ABC's website is already the 7th most visited news site, with 19 million visitors every month. But with more than 177 million people in the U.S. who call themselves Christians, we are sure that it will draw an even larger viewing audience. Is there actually evidence for God? That's the most important question any of us will ever consider."

Cameron added, "We are excited that the network has decided to do this, because we have something very relevant to present. Most people think that belief in God is simply a matter of blind faith, and that His existence can't be proven. We will not only prove that God exists, but as an ex-atheist I'll show that the issue keeping so many people from believing in God -- Darwinian evolution -- is completely unscientific. It's a fairy-tale for grownups."

The debate came about after ABC ran a story in January about hundreds of atheists videotaping themselves blaspheming the Holy Spirit.

"But," Comfort continued, "there is something more sinister here than a few people not believing in God. Why would so many be so bitter against Christianity in particular? Why aren't they making videos that blaspheme Buddha or Mohammed or Ghandi?

We made our own video clip and posted it on www.Hollywoodblasphemy.com to expose why.

A 100-year-old Baptist church in the heart of New York was the venue Saturday
for an ABC debate on the existence of God.

Actor Kirk Cameron and best-selling author Ray Comfort "faced off" against two atheists from the
"Rational Response Squad," in a debate moderated by ABC Nightline's Martin Bashir.

"We were delighted ABC gave us the opportunity to present our case," said Comfort, "but we were taken aback by the aggressive nature of the debate. The audience was evenly divided between believers and atheists. The believers were very polite and quiet, while the atheists were extremely vocal. 'Nasty' is an appropriate word. We felt life a couple of goldfish in a pool of hungry Piranhas, and were getting a sense of what the early Christians must have felt in a Roman coliseum."

In the debate, Comfort presented proof for the existence of God, while Cameron offered evidence to show that the theory of Darwinian evolution is unreasonable and unscientific. They pointed evolutionists to www.IntelligentDesignVersusEvolution.com, where they're offering $10,000 to anyone who can provide a genuine, living transitional form supporting evolutionary claims. The debate also addressed such questions as "Who made God?" and "What about the heathen in Africa who've never heard about God?"

"The atheists made it very clear they didn't like what we said," Cameron explained. "They were full of mockery and sarcasm, belittling the many great scientists and intellectuals who recognize the existence of a Supreme Being. But the average American isn't viciously anti-God. In fact, polls show that more than 90 percent believe in His existence. Our hope is that the program will cause people to think deeply about the evidence presented, and challenge them to consider this most important issue of life."

While Comfort and Cameron will have to wait until Wednesday to see what the public thinks of the debate, they report that they've already received encouraging email from one audience member who commended their presentation: "Good job last night! Although I received my invitation to the show via the atheist camp, I must confess that I was impressed with the two of you (and that I was embarrassed by at least two atheist audience members, whose hostile questions bordered on heckling--I admired your calm and courteous responses). ...I find the 'Design means there was a Designer' argument to be perfectly logical. I just have yet to come across convincing evidence that this Master Designer of the Universe inspired the Judeo-Christian Bible.'"

Another encouragement, Comfort added, was that both mothers of the two atheists in the debate are Christians--one of whom was in the front row of the audience. Comfort stated, "Both sincerely thanked us for our stand, and said that they were earnestly praying for us."

The entire debate will be streamed Wednesday, May 9, at 1:00 p.m. EDT ( 10:00 a.m. PST) on http://abcnews.go.com/nightline/, then again at 2:00 p.m. EDT (11:00 a.m. PST) on http://abcnews.go.com/abcnewsnow/, and an excerpt will be aired that night on ABC's Nightline.

We will have the debate available for viewing online from our video sharing accounts. The videos will be available for viewing after ABC streams it live on their website Wednesday, May 9. You can visit the following link to find the video when it is available. Keep checking after ABC streams it live.
