Have you ever...?

I've been a Christian for a little over three years now and something new happened to me a week or so ago...I woke up and didn't feel hungry for God. I mean I didn't have any drive whatsoever to do His will or anything, and it was crazy at first, but the hunger is back now, so it's all good. I was just wondering if anyone here has ever just went from being totally helpless without his lead, to complete complcacy. weird stuff....

If that has happened only once in three years I think you're in pretty good shape.
Spiritual ups and downs are completely normal.

Eating too many carbohydrates late in the evening will do that every time. Stay away from those French fries!

see, I've had my "up's and down's", but this was different. I was ok with my place in his eyes. I felt like I didn't need to grow, which goes aginst everything He's taught me. It felt like I was someone else. I'm not thinking on it too much, b/c I'm restored, but it was weird!

i like to feel that way though i dont want to feel it everyday..because by feeling so, i will be reminded how much i need God..that i would be empty without him..

I think that our relationship with God is a choice. To Love God, To do his will, To not sin, is all our choice. I don't think the "hunger" for God is a euphoria. When you start liking someone and start dating them, you are caught in a spell almost. But soon, when you tie the knot- and when you around that person alot- that spell fades. Then you have to choose if you are going to love that person that day. The same goes with God, when you don't feel anything- say, "God I am going to love you today... no matter if I feel it or not." I had to do this for months, in my quiet time... I have had awesome quiet times where the prescence of God was so strong in my room- I could feel it all around me. And a couple of months ago, that wasn't happening. And I asked God what was wrong, and he told me that I had to choose to follow him, regardless if the Holy Spirit fell or not. So Choose...that's all you can do.
