• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

 :) Hi, WHITEDOVE, Anymore, i'm not sure what it is.
There have been things in my life, that were'nt the best,
but i believe we could all say that. I think at this point,
i keep remembering things that i've done, in, and with my life, that now. i'm not very proud of. I believe 100%, that Christ died for me, and is my saviour, and that i am forgiven. I also believe, that God now sees me thru the Blood of Christ. I'm having a hard time forgiving myself
for some of the things i've done, and just don't feel so good about myself at this moment. But, that's life, i know i can't change the past, but i sure wish i could go back, and ask for forgivness from certain people. I guess i can be a little hard on myself at times, but i am the one that made those choices, those decisions.I was a little
skeptical about joining this forum, even tho i'm a christian, because, when it comes to God, i'm as open as can be, but with people, it's different. I am glad i decided to join, because you've all made me feel at home. I wish to thank you all for that. Not that it has any bearing on this conversation, but i can remember being so much in love with God,He did things in my life that were only possible thru him. I've written 33 songs
about him, yet, of recently, i have'nt even picked up my guitar. Depression is real, and even tho i don't like what it's doing to me, and my relationship with God, i feel
powerless against it. At this very moment i miss God so much. What can i say, I just have to ride it out i guess.
Thanks for your reply, i copied your link, so i can look at it later. God Bless You, You Take Care, Amin.

Wow! I see the enemy is keeping you in bondage to your past. If you have asked God's forgiveness then you are forgiven and He has forgotten it. The enemy is a roaring lion to accuse. His job is to make you feel bad about yourself so that it will separate you from the Lord, if you let him. I'm so sorry that you are suffering! I've been there and know what it is like. The enemy likes to accuse by bringing our past to our mind to even accuse ourselves. You have to remind him that it is under the blood and that the Lord doesn't even remember no more. Hear is a word picture to help you! I know what I've written is long and I apologize for being so wordy but I'm a minister and love to bring truth.

What God does with our sin!
After we have asked for forgiveness and turned from our sin, does he accuse us? No!

Satan goes to the thrown room of God with all these accusations and charges against you - especially your past mistakes. He has a stack of cases against you that goes from the floor to the ceiling and is now going to present them to the Lord to make you guilty of your charge.

Satan goes through the entire list of your sins to the Lord and the Lord is listening to the accusations. Then the Lord takes these cases against you and goes into his chambers to make a decision. When in His chamber, he opens the door and throws all these cases out because the word says when we repent, then it is forgotten as deep as the sea (Mica 7:19) or as far from the east to the west Psalm 103:12.

The Lord comes out of his chambers and satan asked what the verdict is and the Lord answers "I don't know what you are talking about."
The Lord says "This person you are accusing is "INNOCENT" because she or he is my child. I have a purpose and a plan for this person."
"This case is DISMISSED", says the Lord.

East will never meet West and that is why David says: “As far as the east is from the west, so far has He removed our transgressions from us” (Psalm 103:12). Our sins have not just been taken away but they have been removed an infinite distance from us. As much as East and West cannot meet, so much we will never be confronted by them again once they have been dealt with by the Blood. When children have done something wrong, they instinctively try to hide the evidence, but it does not take long for the truth to come out and for them to be confronted by the evidence. Yet, the Lord has removed our sin so far that they will never return to haunt us.

“You will cast all our sins into the depths of the sea.” (Mica 7:19). At its deepest point, the sea is seven miles deep. It would be impossible to bring things up from that depth and it is so far from the light of the sun that whatever is down there will never be brought to the light. Praise the Lord; He has put our sins down in the deepest, most inaccessible place known to man! (We know, of course, that our sins are not literarily down there, but this is simply a picture to show how far removed our sins are).

“Behold! The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world” (John 1:29). He takes it away – it is gone – never to be brought back, found or even remembered.

Now, you need to forgive yourself and release the debt you've put over your head and rejoice that you are no longer guilty after we repent of our sins.

What is the difference between conviction and condemnation?
Do you ever get confused if Jesus is condemning your? Jesus does not condemn by accusation but convicts us of our sin: The Light of God shines into your conscious - in your heart to expose sin. He shows us our ways that are not right or holy, and we should be willing to repent and when we repent then we are forgiven. Through the Lord's convictions, it strengthens your relationship with Him. God does not accuse. Satan wants you to believe that so that you will separate yourself from His love or to feel unworthy of His love because of some sin in the past.
Have you ever had feelings that God doesn’t care about you?
When things are going bad in your life, do you hear Satan accuse God saying things like “He doesn’t care for you”, “He isn’t interested in you”, or “you are a bad person and God cannot help you!” Satan is trying to get you to believe that God does not care by accusing God to you so that you will not trust God to take care of you. Satan wants to separate you from God; His love, His person and His Word. Satan is a liar and the accuser. The truth is we feel not good enough and push God away when in fact he never leaves us or forsake us. He is their waiting to reach for his hand.

You must recognize the lies of accusation and not believe them. We do have a choice in whom and what we will believe. The word of God and the Spirit of God will direct us. Otherwise, the accusing spirit has caused great hardship for all who are under his control. Many families have felt the brunt of his work, but when we recognize it, repent for allowing accusing spirits to be a part of our life and then renounce it, cast it out and stand in God’s truth, we do receive our victory. Paul said in 2 Corinthians 10:5 “Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;” The battle is in the mind and you need to trust the scriptures. It is our responsibility to recognize and pull them down and upon with the truth with the word. That means if what we hear in our spirit man is not love, then it is from the enemy to get you to believe a lie.

Lord, I come against the accusations and the condemnation that the enemy is planting in his head making him feel guilty when he is no longer guilty! Lord, I pray that you will minister to him in spirit and touch his heart and show him how much you love him. Lord, I also pray that he will start recognizing good and evil and be able to discern and not receive the lies of the enemy but start applying the word and believe the word for him. Lord, I pray the word will bring life to him again. Lord, bring comfort and healing into his life. Lord, I break the power of the spirit of heaviness off his life and I pray that you will give him gladness and joy back in his life in the name of Jesus of Nazareth.

Blessings to you!

 HI, WHITEDOVE, I understand about God forgetting
our sin, and remembering it no more. I thank God, that he has the ability to do that. I was a deacon in my church for, 6yrs., with the help of God, i too in a way ministered to people. I used to sing a song called,
What Sin. Have you ever heard it? Part of the chorus has to do with a person, bringing up their sin to God, and God says; What Sin, What Sin, that's as far away as the
east is from the west. I was also in a contemporary christian trio, we sang for 15yrs, i was also music leader
for 5 yrs. It's not that i don't know the truths of Gods' word. It's as though, you go to sleep, and in the morning you wake up in the witches' castle in the wizard of oz.
There's an atmosphere of darkness in your life, and( i myself anyway) don't see things as clearly as before.
In closing, it's like ,i don't control some of my thoughts anymore, the depression, and anxiety do. I hope this makes sense to you, sometimes i have a hard time
explaining myself. Take Care, Amin.( short for A-minor)

We all have made mistakes amin, I'm not proud of my past either. I still wish I wouldn't do the things I did. When we become a christian GOD forgives our pass and washes our sins away. He doesn't condem us, he tells us to go and sin no more.

You're Right, and i'm glad God does forgive and forget.
Where would we be, if not for that, our forgivness comes at quite a price. That of our Lord, Jesus.
Still praying for ya, Amin.

Hi, Intrepidman, Yea, i don't understand that part. God knows we're going to make a mistake, yet allows it anyway. I guess maybe, we can become too confident,
and God allows things to happen, to show us just where
our strength lies?

 Hi, ceedaisy, I forgot to mention that i've been taking
meds. for depression for over 4 yrs., and nothing seems to do what it's supposed too. My DR. said we're almost out of options when it comes to choices in med. Some meds. i can't take, because i have a stomach problem that's going to be with me forever, and certain meds. trigger the stomach problem, so i can't take them. It was a reaction to a new stomach med. that started the whole thing in the first place. It caused me to have somewhat of a nervous breakdown, and since then my life has been a rollercoaster
ride. I'm now at the point i mentioned in the first post. I've gotten to the point where i've said; God, you're the only one that can help, but if you decide not too, give me strength to live with it. I really don't know what else to do, that's why i've for all intents and purposes, i've just kinda given up. Thanks for your reply, God Bless, And Take care, Amin.
You know, the new MAOI patch should be out now, and theoretically *should* mean people wouldn't have to follow strict dietary and OTC drug restrictions. Maybe that's an option?

<Sorry, peeked in here...>

I have had this depression since childhood. I would cry myself to sleep thinking that no one loved me not even my parents. I felt stupid and handicapped because I have a really bad temper and can be abusive in my depressed state. I'm not pretty when I'm low. If I'm off my lexapro, I slip right back into my old life. And then feel like I'm nothing because I need meds to make me normal. Depression is in my family. Heck who knows, it could be bi-polar for all I know. I was never tested. All I know is that I know that all those feelings were lies. I am loved, I'm not alone, and I'm not stupid. God is working on me everyday. I don't think the healing ever stops. :crossrc:
Check www.psycheducation.org and they have a ton of information on Bipolar 2, which is where you get the really lousy depressions and the mild hypomania. It would probably be very educational for you.

Hi, ceedaisy, I've been on Lexapro, and just about everthing else. I have what's called; Barretts Esophagus,
i did a google search, and a google image search, to see exactly what it was, i did'nt like what i saw. I have to have an endoscopy done about, once every 6 mo to a year, depending on how it feels, to have a biopsy done of the
lower esophagus, to make sure it's not turning into a precancerous condition. There are other things also, but i'm not going to go, on and on here at the forum. I really thank you for your care, and support. They say, nothing lasts forever, so, i guess it's got to stop sometime.
Thanks Again, Amin. (short for A-minor.)
You might have better luck w/ that MAOI patch. Since it is a patch, it transfers straight to the bloodstream, rather than needing to be digested. It would *appear* it would be better for your tummy and esophagus than most other pills would.
