Okay, so, which passages are those, because though I read and read the bible all the time, I'm not quite one who has everything memorized, especially since this isn't really a topic I get involved in too often. And I'm not quite to the point where I can flip it open and know where to look.

Leviticus 18:22-30
22 You shall not lie with a male as with a woman; it is an abomination. 23 And you shall not lie with any animal and so make yourself unclean with it, neither shall any woman give herself to an animal to lie with it: it is perversion. 24 Do not make yourselves unclean by any of these things, for by all these the nations I am driving out before you have become unclean, 25 and the land became unclean, so that I punished its iniquity, and the land vomited out its inhabitants. 26 But you shall keep my statutes and my rules and do none of these abominations, either the native or the stranger who sojourns among you 27 (for the people of the land, who were before you, did all of these abominations, so that the land became unclean), 28 lest the land vomit you out when you make it unclean, as it vomited out the nation that was before you. 29 For everyone who does any of these abominations, the persons who do them shall be cut off from among their people. 30 So keep my charge never to practice any of these abominable customs that were practiced before you, and never to make yourselves unclean by them: I am the Lord your God.

Leviticus 20:13
13 If a man lies with a male as with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination; they shall surely be put to death; their blood is upon them.

OK: there you have it, right in God's Word. Gays and lesbians are to be put to death.

Not "put out of the church". Not "removed from church membership". Gays and lesbians are to be put to death.

You insist on an absolutely literal interpretation of the Scriptures, that the Scriptures are absolutely inerrant and infallible, that God has not changed and that every word of Scripture is absolutely as applicable today as it was 5,000 years ago.

Now -- are you (and others) going to do what God's Word explicitly tells you to do?

YES or NO.

Yes we are going to do what God's word tells us to do. We are going to put things in context and then give the appropriate action according to how things are supposed to be handed after Christ death, burial and resurrection.

So lets see those scriptures with the death sentence were before Christ, and since He conqueor death that punishment doesn't hold. Well, it doesn't hold if we take the entire word and put things in prespective.

Now, in the NT 1 Cor. 5:1-13 is one scripture that speaks to being separated from unrepenant brethern. I believe there are some others and will look for them.

of course if one really wishes to view the bible in context and with literal translations then no where does one find a condemnation for homosexuals.

the Leviticus passages don’t work at all. multiple times in Leviticus we see the admonition against having carnal knowledge with a list of other people (or sheep) However neither Leviticus 18:22 and 20:13 says that the specific word used in Shakab.

Shakab is used 52 times in the old testament and is always used to a sexual encounter typified by deceit or force, in other words, some type of rape.

Leviticus 18:22 and 20:13 means that a man shall not force, or in any way coerce, another man to have sex, in the way that a man is allowed to force sex upon his wife. In other words, man is not allowed to rape a man, it is an abomination.

A man raping a man is no more a description of homosexuality than a man raping a woman is a description of heterosexuality.

Has God given a directive to take out all the gays and lesbians?

In helping fellow Christians to spiritually mature, we deal with obedience to God's Word. That's obedience for the gay, lesbian and heterosexual.

If any of the three are engaging in unrepentant sin and it is brought to the attention of the body, there is a Biblical Disciplining process. And if the person, gay or straight does not want to repent and be restored to the Body, they are to be removed.

God is STILL able.
the fact God welcomes ut gay brothers and sisters into his various churches as they are says that it is not god who has the problem with homosexuals.

Who said God had a problem with homosexuals? God takes issue with SIN and the sin of the homosexual, not the homosexual,is what has been addressed.

So if you are a homosexual or heterosexual, come on to Church. You are indeed welcome. But neither the homosexual or heterosexual unrepentant sinner needs to be allowed to sit in the Body if the sin is known and the person will not go through the Church Discipline process.
