Have you been hurt by rep games.
Some are saying that people have been hurt, I'm looking for evidence.

I am hurt by things being a mess. That is what I am hurt by. They are not rep points they are recreation points. They are not what Erwin intended them to be pre 7/7/7. They were suppose to mean more than self promotion. Some of the high reppers here are wonderful people and would get high reps anyway but this is out of control. I know people are sick and tired of some of this turmoil already. When is there going to be a real operational chief of this place so this stuff is better organized and directed.

Not Applicable anymore as Erwin gave up the site along with any goals / meanings he had for the site.

This poll was put in the Repaholic Sub Forum under the Relaxation / Games Section for a reason, as it was to avoid the Who / How the forum is run, who ran it better.

It is your poll so I will be silent here after this. I need to indicate that everyone wanted things the old way. Pre 7/7/7 and that was the point of the reputation point comment. Further if we don't look back at those past good things and bad things what good is the history of this place so we may learn and continue to improve. That is the real point.

The rep points are hurting me right now by having to post this very message. A database is cold hearted and perhaps that is your perception of what goes on here. The cf and blessing exchange I knew was always much more than a database. It was real friends who enjoyed one anothers company regardless what the point pays would be.

Erwin wanted the change and that is why it took place. Everyone may have been the wrong word but I don't have the time I did before to post and review these posts before sending. I can only say the majority at the time wanted it the old way and He has even admitted that. If you wish to pick over each word instead of getting to the heart of these posts then I truly have waisted my time. If I had more time I would be able to deal with that critique but I don't so I will just keep praying and leave it in Gods hands.

I haven't been hurt by the rep games. I have had people who didn't want to trade with me when my rep count was low and their's was really high....but I just moved on and traded reps with others. I remember that when people with low rep counts rep me and always try to rep them back if not the same day then the next day.

I love getting surprize reps from people. It brightens my day to know that someone was thinking about me.

I haven't been hurt, although I'm usually too introverted to play the rep games (yep, even on an internet message board), but that's my own issue. I have been tremendously blessed here by people repping me and being able to rep others. I am delighted by the surprise reps and love to trade when people are willing (again....I'm too shy to initiate a trade). So, my vote is "NO".

I've made a number of friends through the rep threads. Don't do the trades, just haven't caught on to them. What I like best is coming to the site and looking at the sweet comments that many people put with reps. They can really make my day.

Same here, buttercup! I think that is the main thing that I've missed in the couple months that I was gone from the repaholics forum. I'd log on and get like 1 rep in a week. So apart from not getting more rep points, that meant hardly any rep comments for me to read!

There is no better system to send a brief note to someone regarding a post or anything else for that matter than the rep system. I am not against it but I do think it needs an overhaul. It has gotten confused or mixed with something else that I really don't understand. The original intent was indeed to show satisfaction or dissatisfaction with a post or poster. That should remain and then those true reputation numbers would really begin to mean something again.

We do not all react the same and some have addictions to many things. I would no sooner bring a brother to a bar that was alcoholic than I would bring someone to the rep forum who has these counting and numbers addictions. That is all I am saying about that as I have been asked to be quiet about this by some who are disturbed.

The case had to be presented and I and others have done that. Will it matter? It is not for me to say. In a perfect world none of this would be worth a moment of our time to discuss but perfection is only in heaven not here. I am praying for all involved and wishing you all the best. My duties as a primary care giver at this time to not afford me time to do what I want anymore such as get into long debates so I must unsubscribe at this time and concentrate on what I joined for in the first place which is to pray and worship Jesus. This poll probably should of been more anonymous than open for public viewing

But anyways, I know that my involvement with reps months back hurt some things in real life... I know we can make bad choices, just that alot more could of been done & should of gotten done offline but I spent far too much time here all day.

As far as being personally hurt, I rarely get hurt here becuz I don't allow myself to and I've gotten a thick skin from years of Christian debating.
In my case it's been more of letting other things suffer, but again, it's not the rep forum's fault for that, it's mine.

Alot of people have left CF or the rep forum specifically so I don't know how many will be here to reply to this poll.

If you mean annoyed or disapointed then yes.

Some people here have been known to post in threads saying they have repped those above them, but as the one above them , you know they haven't given anything.

Gets annoying but I just get over it now.
