OK, I had a hard time following who said what in that whole Debate scenario. So I still come back to this point: society is moving to protect the sinner and discount the saint.

Whether we oppress or not, the point remains that we have been called to be holy and to live accordingly. By accepting or not standing against the mainstreaming of homosexuality are we apathetically sinning or are we just too weak to see that grey is merely bits of black and bits of white?

This topic of homosexuality is a difficult one because many people I care for are homosexual (3 good friends), yet, we still have to make a decision for or against the mainstreaming of homosexuality by permissive laws, and we have to make a stand on how we will interact with those we love who sin.

What do you think?

interesting...I believe that laws should be based in what is good for people...not just for christians.

live by your own moral codes and support or ignore homosexuality...but lets TRY not to bring legislation into it...this should be inherently void of religious persuasion...we have seen what happens when religious doctrines rule countries...Sudan (where 4 million christians have been massacred in the last 10 years), Israel, Afghanistan...

and other areas of the world as well.

...just my 2 cents...

No, you are right, people can disagree all they want...but when they take an active role, that's when they start to get into the "oppresive" part.

active role = continuously posting/saying homosexuals should not marry, and trying to convice others of the same.

you can think they are sinners all day and night. but you can NOT promote the inequality of them. or well...ya can, but it is hate speech. Divorce is a sin too. I don't hear people attacking divorcers. I actually hear divorcerers (adulterers) spend a lot of time attacking homosexuality.

It is one thing to post or say they shouldn't be married, and to persuade other to that thought, it is another to say you should prevent them from being married.

I think you are starting to cross over to areas that are just opinion squeeze, and not oppression.

NO not just voicing it...actually voting against it...that is oppression.

Ah ok, yes voting against it, and promoting voting against gay marriage would be considered hate speech, as you are advocating the oppression of a group.

Have you ever heard the expression beating a dead horse?

LOL funny. a big hullaballou, kinda like you posting 20 threads on homosexuality.

And I think it is quite important, when you make a whole thread dedicated to your opinion that you do not commit hate speech. Then you agree with someone who says "voting against it and promoting others to vote against it is hate speech since it is oppressive"

I simply point out the humor in that...and you say it does not make sense.

If you would be adult and admit when you made a mistake, like most of the mature posters on here, I wouldn't have to beat it to death. Just a note, next time I catch you or anyone else in something I think is a lie, I will do the same. I sw lambslove do it in another thread and did the same thing. I will do it to anyone, I am not picking on you. I have admitted to mistakes, I am big enough to do that. why wont you?? What is the point of debate if we run away or pretend we don't get it?

See you don't know what I agreed to..you just saw what you wanted to see and tried to make a big deal out of it. You also never caught either of us in a lie..that is in itself a lie..and you are the LAST person who should talk about maturity...you can never stick to the topic being discussed but have to do everything in your power to turn it to an individual.

That is because I am secretly in love with you. I am the president and founder of the I love kitty fan club.

On a serious note, I thought it was an important point. You don't want to discuss it, fine. i can only ask you so many times.

There is nothing to discuss. You thought I agreed to something but you don't even know what I agreed to:)
