I agree, the law has been magnified/raised to its pristene state, in Christ's teaching, not watered down. The main theme of the old covenant was law and duty. The beautiful theme of the new covenant is Love and Grace. No wonder the Holy Spirit does not prick the conscience of men to observe the law when the covenant of love and grace are the desire of God for mankind.
