    John 16:
2 They will ban you from the synagogue, yet an hour is coming for everyone who kills you to think that he is offering a service to God. 3 These things they will do because they have not known the Father nor Me. 4 But these things I have spoken to you, so that when their hour comes, you may remember that I told you of them.

Christ said that people would to things wrong and then claim God told them to do it.

But Acts 17:11 has the fix for that "they studied the scriptures daily to see IF those things spoken to them by the Apostle Paul - were so".

They were told by their magisterium to reject Paul and many people in the first century did that very thing - thinking they were doing the right thing. Yet in Acts 17:11 they go against their religious leaders and accept what Paul taught -- by studying the scriptures to see if it was as Paul said.

you may have missed the point entirely.

    1. John 16 is written for the church many decades after the cross -- and is an effort to comply with the great commission statement in Matt 28:19. So "yes" it is for us.

    2. The point is that while they may have had some sort of "burning in the bosom" that they were doing the right thing by opposing Christians - they were still wrong and the Acts 17:11 solution would have helped them to see that detail.

Keep it? All we know is they gave lip service to Sabbath "keeping".

Just reminding those who tell us we are sinning because they think we are under the law that doing their own thing and speaking idle words on the Sabbath is also sinning. Notice no one has come out defending themselves. When I thought I had to keep Sabbath I kept it to myself that I failed every Sabbath. I put on my "happy Sabbath face" and i suspect I was not alone.

    All have sinned...

We don't keep the Sabbath it’s to keep us...closer to Him more and more like Him...

We’re like little children putting on our Father’s shoes clothes and hat pretending to be Him...hoping to be like Him when we go grow up...nothing fits and we wear it wrong but He seems to like it...

You are adding to the word of God. You are putting words in Jesus’ mouth that He DID NOT SAY. Jesus never said the Sabbath was for ALL MAN The Sabbath was not given to man until Moses went to mount Sinai. God rested on the 7th day. Nowhere before Mt. Sinai does the Bible say that ANYONE rested on the 7th day including Adam & Eve. As I’ve stated before there is not a shred of evidence that anyone ever kept the Sabbath before Mt. Sinai nor was there ever a commandment given before Mt. Sinai. Stop twisting God’s word to support your theology. That is a deceptive tactic that you should be ashamed of. If you can’t support your doctrines just leave it at that but don’t go putting words in Christ’s mouth making claims that He never said. Are you really that desperate that you have to resort to adding to Christ’s words to support your beliefs? That’s dishonest, it’s a lie. You want to honor God but keeping the Sabbath? That’s great but don’t turn right around and dishonor Him by adding to His words. Let the word of God say what it says and let it teach what it teaches don’t try to make it teach something you believe. The word of God has the power to bring salvation not you or I.

The serpent did beguile her, that is an undisputed Biblical Fact.. She had a choice, she listened to the wrong voice, and paid the price. God also blamed the serpent, it's in your own Bible.

None of these words are proof that she tried to deceive the serpent, that she was a liar and deceiver, just like satan, even before the serpent showed up. None of these things prove God didn't speak any words to her that wasn't recorded.

The religious philosophy that Eve lied about what God told her is not held by even one Scripture in the entire Bible. The belief that she was deceived by the "other" voice in the garden is founded in Scripture.

I don't know why you have to "ADDED" to the story a judgment against EVE that God never made. You are free to do so, but it is your religious philosophy, not God's.

So you would be naive enough to believe that tens of thousands of devoted servants of God scattered over thousands of miles apart who risked their very lives to spread the gospel would ALL conspire together and agree to preach a different gospel WITH ABSOLUTELY NO RESISTANCE WHATSOEVER? You deliberately close your eyes to any logical or rational thought process to evaluate the situation that would’ve had to take place in order for your false accusations against the church to even be possible. How dare you accuse me of being one of those who would crucify Christ just because I have the capacity to actually THINK about what would’ve had to happen in order for the ENTIRE CHRISTIAN CHURCH to fall to preaching a false gospel. ACCORDING TO YOU THE GATES OF HELL DID PREVAIL OVER CHRIST’S CHURCH UNTIL 1867AD. SOMETHING CHRIST SAID WOULD NOT HAPPEN. I’ve taken the time to study on church history and early church teachings. It’s extremely obvious by your constant misconceptions that you know nothing about church history. You think Rome was governing the church and you know nothing about how the church was actually governed or Rome’s excommunication from it. Your knowledge in this area is less than elementary. Furthermore your constant unwarranted attacks on me indicate a severe lack of maturity or restraint on your part even despite my recent ignoring and declining to comment on your posts for the sake of avoiding an argument but you’ve overstepped your boundary with this accusation that I would be one to crucify Christ. That was completely uncalled for. You think I got this knowledge of the scriptures and church history by accident? You seem like someone who has been deceived by a false gospel because you didn’t know any better and still haven’t had the motivation to actually do the study to test your own beliefs. Like someone who just jumped on the first bandwagon and went with whatever he was told because he was too lazy to put forth any actual effort to do any study to look at the gospel from other perspectives because surely he wouldn’t want to have to admit making a mistake because that might involve swallowing his pride or maybe you just lack the mental capacity to do so in which case I pity you.

God gave us common sense for a reason and I think its important to look at the theme of God and what the Bible teaches. I believe God was very intentional with everything He did, including creation and His seventh day Sabbath. Genesis 2:3 Then God blessed the seventh day and sanctified it, because in it He rested from all His work which God had created and made.

Very similar on the verbiage God wrote with His finger the 4th commandment

8 “Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy. 9 Six days you shall labor and do all your work, 10 but the seventh day is the Sabbath of the Lord your God. In it you shall do no work: you, nor your son, nor your daughter, nor your male servant, nor your female servant, nor your cattle, nor your stranger who is within your gates. 11 For in six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and rested the seventh day. Therefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and hallowed it.

In the entire Bible God only Blessed ONE day. That day is Saturday. Once God Blesses something it is unchanged, like His law, that He wrote with His finger.

    Numbers 23:19-20 Behold, I have received a command to bless;
He has blessed, and I cannot reverse it.

The commandments were given before Mt. Sinai. The Bible teaches us sin is the transgression of the law 1 John 3:4. The Bible shows us of adultery being a "great sin" before Mt Sinai breaking God's 7th commandment Genesis 20:3-9 and Genesis 39:7-9 There are several other examples I can provide showing the law (the commandments of God) were broken before God wrote them in Mt Sinai. Right before the commandments were given God said Exodus 16:28 And the Lord said to Moses, “How long do you refuse to keep My commandments and My laws?

The law was established before the commandments were given, which includes the 4th commandment that was established at creation.

The Sabbath has never changed. It is the day God established from creation, the day Jesus and His disciples kept, Sabbath was meant for man =all. The day we will be worshipping in Heaven Isaiah 66:23 As you can see God is consistent. Why are you not following the commandments of God where He clearly did not Bless, Sanctify, make Holy, rest or asked us to Remember Sunday or any other day other than the seventh day Sabbath. His day is the seventh day Sabbath and will always be.

Man changed the day as they admit and also admit it was not Biblical. I think we should follow the Word of God, after all that is the point of the Bible- His Word, not mans.

It is well to remind the Presbyterians, Baptists, Methodists, and all other Christians, that the Bible does not support them anywhere in their observance of Sunday. Sunday is an institution of the Roman Catholic Church, and those who observe the day observe a commandment of the Catholic Church.
—Priest Brady, in an address, reported in the Elizabeth, NJ ‘News’ on March 18, 1903.

Protestants ... accept Sunday rather than Saturday as the day for public worship after the Catholic Church made the change... But the Protestant mind does not seem to realize that ... in observing Sunday, they are accepting the authority of the spokesman for the Church, the pope.
—Our Sunday Visitor, February 5th, 1950.

Had she not such power, she could not have done that in which all modern religionists agree with her; —she could not have substituted the observance of Sunday the first day of the week, for the observance of Saturday the Seventh day, a change for which there is no Scriptural authority.
—Rev. Stephen Keenan, A Doctrinal Catechism; New York in 1857, page 174

Question: Which is the Sabbath day?
Answer: Saturday is the Sabbath day.

Question: Why do we observe Sunday instead of Saturday?
Answer: We observe Sunday instead of Saturday because the Catholic Church transferred the solemnity from Saturday to Sunday.
—Rev. Peter Geiermann C.SS.R., The Convert’s Catechism of Catholic Doctrine, p. 50

The [Roman Catholic] Church changed the observance of the Sabbath to Sunday by right of the divine, infallible authority given to her by her founder, Jesus Christ. The Protestant claiming the Bible to be the only guide of faith, has no warrant for observing Sunday. In this matter the Seventh-day Adventist is the only consistent Protestant.
    —The Catholic Universe Bulletin, August 14, 1942, p. 4.

All of us believe many things in regard to religion that we do not find in the Bible. For example, nowhere in the Bible do we find that Christ or the Apostles ordered that the Sabbath be changed from Saturday to Sunday. We have the commandment of God given to Moses to keep holy the Sabbath day, that is the 7th day of the week, Saturday. Today most Christians keep Sunday because it has been revealed to us by the Church outside the Bible.
—The Catholic Virginian, To Tell You The Truth,” Vol. 22, No. 49 (Oct. 3, 1947).

... you may read the Bible from Genesis to Revelation, and you will not find a single line authorizing the sanctification of Sunday. The Scriptures enforce the religious observance of Saturday, a day which we never sanctify.
—The Faith of Our Fathers, by James Cardinal Gibbons, Archbishop of Baltimore, 88th edition, page 89. Originally published in 1876, republished and Copyright 1980 by TAN Books and Publishers, Inc., pages 72-73.

Deny the authority of the Church and you have no adequate or reasonable explanation or justification for the substitution of Sunday for Saturday in the Third - Protestant Fourth - Commandment of God... The Church is above the Bible, and this transference of Sabbath observance is proof of that fact.'
    —Catholic Record, September 1, 1923.

Religious men have separated God's Sabbaths from His Laws, not God.

Ex. 16:25 And Moses said, Eat that to day; for to day is a sabbath unto the LORD: to day ye shall not find it in the field.

26 Six days ye shall gather it; but on the seventh day, which is the sabbath, in it there shall be none.

27 And it came to pass, that there went out some of the people on the seventh day for to gather, and they found none.

28 And the LORD said unto Moses, How long refuse ye to keep my commandments and my laws?

You say this because you have been convinced by the "other" voice in the garden that the Christ lied to you about His Sabbath. That it isn't God's Law, nor a "Good work" that God before ordained that we should walk in them, and that it wasn't made for man. You also seem to reject the Biblical Truth that Jesus, before becoming a man, created these Holy Days, and declared to the world that they are "His Feasts". they came about from HIS Mouth, they are commands HE gave as the Word of God.

He warned us about this very thing.

Also, a reminder about Romans 3 that you omitted. And that is who is Paul talking about in this chapter.

Rom. 3:1 What advantage then hath the Jew? or what profit is there of circumcision?

2 Much every way: chiefly, because that unto them were committed the oracles of God.

3 For what if some did not believe? shall their unbelief make the faith of God without effect?

4 God forbid: yea, let God be true, but every man a liar; as it is written, That thou mightest be justified in thy sayings, and mightest overcome when thou art judged.

Now that we have added the context that Paul is speaking about Jews who didn't believe the "Oracles of God", we can continue.

Now we know that whatever the Law says, it speaks to those who are under the Law,"

Paul is speaking to men who have transgressed God's Commandments and are spiritually dead.

    so that every mouth may be closed and all the world may become accountable to God;

We are all in the same place, dead and in need of salvation.

because by the works of the Law no flesh will be justified in His sight; for through the Law comes the knowledge of sin.

God had "ADDED" sacrificial atonement/justification "works" required to cover transgressions until the "SEED" should come. Paul knew this because he taught from and believed all that was written in the Law and Prophets (See Acts 24) As he said "I was alive once, then the Law came and I died", why? Because through the Law comes the knowledge of sin whose wages is death.

But now apart from the Law the righteousness of God has been manifested,

But now, we see Jesus forgiving sins "Apart" from the "works" God gave Moses to provide for forgiveness. Jesus didn't sprinkle the blood of a goat or bull on the alter to forgive sins, HE gave HIS own Blood and did not perform the "Works of the Law" required by God through the Levitical Priesthood "Till the seed should come".

    being witnessed by the Law and the Prophets, even the righteousness of God through faith in Jesus Christ for all those who believe;

As it is written. "Hab. 4:4 "The Just shall live by Faith". And again Duet. 32:20 And he said, I will hide my face from them, I will see what their end shall be: for they are a very froward generation, children in whom is no faith. And again in Jer. 31 "For I will forgive their sins", not a Levite Priest as per the "Works of the Law".

for there is no distinction; for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, being justified (Forgiven our sins) as a gift by His grace through the redemption which is in Christ Jesus; whom God displayed publicly as a propitiation in His blood through faith.

So we are forgiven, not by going to the Levite Priest with a sin offering, as the Jews were still requiring, but by the Blood of the Lamb of God which is shed for us while we were still in Egypt, which symbolizes sin.

This was to demonstrate His righteousness, because in the forbearance of God He passed over the sins previously committed; for the demonstration, I say, of His righteousness at the present time, so that He would be just and the justifier of the one who has faith in Jesus.

Jesus is the "Restorer of Paths to walk in", the Prophesied Messiah, the Unblemished Lamb of God. It is HIS Blood and HIS Grace that saves us, not some preacher in a temple made with wood and stone, as per the "Law of Works"..

"Where then is boasting? It is excluded. By what "kind of" law, (poor translation )? Of works? No, but by a law of faith."

There are two Laws. One eternal,

Gen. 26:5 Because that Abraham obeyed my voice, and kept my charge, my commandments, my statutes, and my laws.

and one "ADDED" Till the SEED should come.

Lev. 4:20 And he shall do with the bullock as he did with the bullock for a sin offering, so shall he do with this: and the priest shall make an atonement for them, and it shall be forgiven them.

Abraham had the Law of Faith, but not the Law of Works. He was justified "Apart from the Law" of Works.

"For we maintain that a man is justified (Atoned, forgiven) by (The Law of) faith apart from works of the Law (of works)."

Abraham was justified by obedience to God as with "EVERY" example of faith in the entire Bible. Do men slip, do they make mistakes? Sure, but in Every example of Faith in the Bible there was "Faithfulness" to the "WAY" of the Lord. And in EVERY Example of unfaithfulness, is disbelief and disobedience.

Or is God the God of Jews only? Is He not the God of Gentiles also? Yes, of Gentiles also, since indeed God who will justify the circumcised by faith and the uncircumcised through faith is one.

This is exactly what Paul teaches throughout his letters.

    Rom. 2:9 Tribulation and anguish, upon every soul of man that doeth evil, of the Jew first, and also of the Gentile;

10 But glory, honour, and peace, to every man that worketh good, to the Jew first, and also to the Gentile:

11 For there is no respect of persons with God.

Do we then nullify the Law through faith? May it never be! On the contrary, we establish the Law.

As Paul does. Rom. 7:24 O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death?

25 I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord. So then with the mind I myself serve the law of God; but with the flesh the law of sin.

The Jews Paul is speaking about were still promoting the Levitical Priesthood "Works of the Law" for justification. A "LAW" of atonement Abraham didn't have. A "LAW" that was not "ADDED" until 430 years after Abraham.

Abraham was justified "Apart" from these "Works of the Law" of Justification given to Levi "Till the seed should come".

But God blessed Abraham because when God gave Abraham HIS Laws, Commandments and Statutes, Abraham obeyed the Commandments, Statutes and Laws of God. Had Abraham rejected them as did the Children of Israel, Abraham would have been overthrown in the wilderness as well. But Abraham didn't practice iniquity. Like Caleb and Joshua and Gideon, and Zacharias, and Simeon and Noah and David, they all followed the "Way of the Lord", they all "Denied themselves" and followed the Word of God which became Flesh.

So it is true that we are not Justified by the sacrificial, ceremonial "works of the Law" of atonement given to Levi "Till the SEED should come", that the Jews were still promoting in Romans.

But we are required to repent, turn to God, and do works worthy of repentance according to Paul. Both Jew and Gentile. This is what Paul teaches. If you have been convinced that rejecting God's Laws or Sabbaths are "works worthy of repentance" then you are partaking of a Path followed by a great "Many", including the Israelite's who fell in the wilderness as examples to us.

You are following a cleaver deception that has snared a great many people, as prophesied by the Christ Himself.

Paul says "13(For not the hearers of the law are just before God, but the doers of the law shall be justified.

Not "doers" of the "Works of the law" of the Levitical Priesthood given "Till the Seed should come". But the Law of Faith, "Thou shall Love the Lord your God with all your heart, and though shall Love thy neighbor as thyself" on which every Commandment, Statute and Law of God rests.

Brother, tell me this, when did God make the "Sabbath" holy so that we remember to keep it holy?

Remember the Sabbath day by keeping it holy. Six days you shall labor and do all your work, but the seventh day is a sabbath to the Lord your God. On it you shall not do any work, neither you, nor your son or daughter, nor your male or female servant, nor your animals, nor any foreigner residing in your towns. For in six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, but he rested on the seventh day. Therefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and made it holy. Those who follow Christ... John 16 was written decades after the cross.

And the persecution of the saints has been seen in all 2000 years of the time since then.

None of this has anything to do with the Sabbath and is completely inconclusive as evidence of the Saturday Sabbath before Mt Sinai. You can’t preach a belief as doctrine without concrete evidence to support it. You keep pointing to the scriptures as evidence of the sabbath but keep injecting your own personal opinions into the verses to support and you accuse the church of teaching manmade theology.

Yes. The Holy Spirit who inspired the Scriptures and continues to speak through the Scriptures has explicitly told us to keep the Sabbath in the Scriptures.

You could make the same argument you’re making with adultery. Suppose person X commits adultery but does not feel convicted. Has the Holy Spirit ever explicitly told you to not commit adultery?

which man did He leave out? You? Others here? He could have said it was made for Jews but DID NOT...but you wish Him to LIE
made for Himself? He needed the rest? He needed a memorial that He made ALL? and all of it for Man?

His LAW describes Him His kingdom...when was it NOT IMMORTAL as HE IS? Into the past...NOW...and into the future...?

He could have made ALL in a BIG BANG or 3 days or a billion years...INSTEAD HE CHOSE SIX DAYS and made the seventh day HOLY...the grand finale of creation

they were MADE IN HIS IMAGE...just to LOOK LIKE HIM or to actually LIVE AS HE DID?

    “So Adam...Happy Sabbath...How you doing?”

“So sorry Yah...no time today for You Your chit chat...I have all this fruitful and multiplying to do...and all these fish birds and animinals to dominate...no time for you...but enjoy your day off”

    LOL

so...why was there a consequence when Cain murdered his brother Abel?...no law yet right? How did Enoch walk with Him...or how was Noah blameless the others only evil...what is the standard at this time?...DID ANYBODY KNOW? Or did they all drown NOT KNOWING WHY?...

Noah knew days months years...the seven day week...even the day the ark came to rest...a week after the future day of atONEment...during festival of boothes when they were in temporary houses...neat eh?

Abraham obeyed ALL HIS COMMANDMENTS which were those...DIFFERENT LAWS? Contrary to later ones?

Melchizedek was priest of which Law? The Sunday Ham celebrations?

Rachel sat on her idols? Why? NO LAW right?

Joseph knew adultery was a sin against Yah...not just his master Potiphar...

Even before Sinai Israel full of those NOT of Jacob...learned to count their days and weeks with His manna given on His Holy day...

    oh my...pot kettle black...

Do as they teach from Moses’ seat...

IF you accept it...you have to ACCEPT His word...His grace...like His Sabbath given BEFORE SIN...grace before we needed physical rest...neat eh?

And we are to go to ALL and teach them to observe ALL He commanded us to do...not just 9/10ths...

So...is this why it’s “here are they that keep...and have the faith OF”...and not just 9/10ths of it...

Even if you choose not to believe the Sabbath was established at creation do you also choose to not believe that God wrote the 4th commandment asking us to keep the seventh day Holy and rest as also inclusive? Throughout the Bible the Sabbath is very consistent. Nothing changed and it never will.
If you don't want to worship God now on the day He made holy, blessed, sanctified, asked us to remember- why would you want to in heaven?

Isaiah 66:23 And it shall come to pass
That from one New Moon to another,
And from one Sabbath to another,
All flesh shall come to worship before Me,” says the Lord

Do you think God is not going to notice? Does what He write with His own hand not important? It should be.

    God Bless

The word remember does not always refer to something that was already said it can also mean don’t forget. For example if I’m teaching my son how to cross the street safely I can say remember to look both ways before crossing. Just because I told him to remember doesn’t mean that I’ve already told him this.

And what about Matthew 16:18? Do I just completely forget about that verse? Where was this church that taught keeping the Sabbath is necessary for salvation before 1867? Christ’s church MUST REMAIN TRIUMPHANT OVER THE GATES OF HELL. By saying that ALL of Christianity fell away from teaching the true word of God your saying that the gates of hell prevailed over the church for over 1500 years. Your saying that there was no church that taught the truth about God’s word that the Holy Spirit was completely absent from the church during this time. I accept the decision at Nicaea because it’s not the first time I’ve heard of the Holy Spirit abolishing one of God’s commandments. He already did it before in Jerusalem in Acts 15.
