That doesn't prove that homosexual love is wrong, it just proves that heterosexual love is good.Sure it can. Adam and Eve, Sarah and Abraham, Joseph and Mary. Song of Solomon is written about heterosexual love.

Yeah, it does say that David's love for Jonathan was greater than that of a woman. We can't be sure that it was sexual, but they did show affection for each other even in the Bible.Jonathon and David?

Yes, I'm sure thats what Saul said too. Of course, some of us have experienced the way parents say one thing but really mean "no son of mine's gunna be no stinking pansy!"It was not their relationship that Saul disaproved of. Instead it was the fact that the Glory of God had left him, and had instead rested on David.

Sure... but thats not really relevant to what I'm saying. I'm saying that Saul's reaction to J+D's relationship was because they were gay lovers. We will stand alone, and we are accountable to God for ourselves, no one else...although, our treatment of others will definitely be brought up.

Stoning to death of a rape victim was also in the Bible...what about the stoning to death if you had sex w/a woman within 7 days of her menstrual cycle? Why do you not address Scripture with this. If our God turns away from sin once, then, why doesn't He always? Why did Jesus have to die if SOME sin will be ignored, and others worthy of death?
There is absolutely no argument that can show that David and Jonathan were lovers. It is completely against the evidence of how God reacted to sexual sin in David's life.
Please show me how God would not have punished David for an illicit affair with man or woman while he was married, (or even when he wasn't)
If you do not address my point, then, you are showing yourself an unworthy discussion partner. You are also showing yourself as oblivious to truly desiring to know the will of God on this.

Have non Christians infiltrated this website? I noticed many post attacking the bible in general. I was wondering if some atheist are posing as Christians to try to get their point across?
This is the message of a loving and compassionate believer! You remind me of Savedandhappy1, even though you don't agree you still don't judge or condemn.first off, the title on the forum says gay community but the title of the op says atheist. i'm confused.
for the gay community, i say let them come in.
i'm not here to debate if homosexuality is right or wrong, but let's say for the moment it is wrong. i see no reason to not welcome them in here, because we welcome other shades of darkness/saved sinners.
if it isn't sin, well no issue and life goes on, well, either way life keeps going on.
i sure hope tho that they find a place here that they are welcomed with love.
and the atheists, come. they have great insight for us to see our faith through, or to just have great conversation.
infiltrate us i say!!!!

The Bible also makes it clear that you should slit your own throat if you are partial to gluttony in Proverbs. Shall we take that as serious as an offense? God doesn't make any room for sin, but clearly the mainstream church sees some sins as bigger than others. I don't even believe homosexuality is a sin in a life long committed monogamous relationship, but even if it was, it shows you the priorities of sexual sins over other things that the Bible made clear were just as serious as an offense.
Burning with lust, but what does this chapter address? it addresses lust and not attraction or romantic love.Nice dodge, but this is no game of dodgeball.
Let's take the Old Testament out of it since those Leviticus verses are the most condemning of all on homosexuality. No matter how much a Christian may bend on this subject, it is still very, very clear that sexual sin is a serious offense in the eyes of God.
Now, please look at just the New Testament. It very clearly tells us that men burning in lust with other men is a sin. No matter how you try to get around that, it is there for a reason.
Many say that it was a cultural thing of the time. Perhaps. Yet, it was a common one in almost all cultures across the ages. So, was prostitution. Yet, we all agree that prostitution is a sin. Sexual sin is not new, and scholars down through the ages have had to deal with it.
I suggest that you look at those scholars and how they dealt with Holy Scripture on the subject.
Acceptance in a culture does not mean acceptance in the eyes of God.
I will see what I can find on the subject. The Catholics have kept an immense library of scholarship down through the ages. It is a good place to start.
