  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

An eschatological refocusing of Jewish/Christian Relations
Replacement theology in the church legitimized horrific atrocities against Jewry in an effort to forcibly “convert” Jews – and when that failed, tried to annihilate both their race and religion. It was cetainly not G-d's wish.”

“For Moses truly said unto the fathers, A prophet shall the Lord your God raise up unto you of your brethren, like unto me; him shall ye hear in all things whatsoever he shall say unto you. And it shall come to pass, that every soul, which will not hear that prophet, shall be destroyed from among the people.” Acts 3:22-23 (KJV 1900)

“He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.” John 3:36 (KJV 1900)

All kinds of evils have been done in the name of Christ. Forced conversion is one of them. The Jews have endured in spite of every attempt to eradicate them. They are God's physical witness to His great power. No, Jews are not automatically saved. They still have to accept Christ. But Israel stands because God holds her up. It is utter foolishness to fight God on any issue, including this one.

The end of the article stated this:

"As our Jewish and Christian destinies are inseparable"

Are the unbelieving in the Body of Christ?
Are the unbelieving in the Kingdom of God?
Do Christians share the same destiny as the unbelievers?

I say NO to all of these questions. We have been separated and if you believe otherwise then please show me in scripture.
Be blessed

Replacement Theology is a problem but so is Dispensationalism and/or the kind of futurism asserted in this article. Neither are wholly representative of Christianity so any indictment of Christianity as a whole, as this article insinuates, is misguided. The article complains about the "horrific atrocties against Jewry," but it is not forthcoming about the horrific atrocities of futurism often inherent in futurism, such as the belief a third of all Jews must and will die in the tribulation. By any and all objective criteria that is antisemitism.

IF when Rev. Abma states Jewish and Christian destinies are inseparable he means there is no Jew or Gentile in Christ (Gal. 3:8, then he is correct. Any other view is an unnecessary and unwarranted twisting of scripture.
